I will grant the first sentence, to a point. Rest is hooey though. Freemasons tended to be merchant to wealthy, though was open as far as I'm aware, just have to meet some requirements. It was, and still is, effectively a social club so you're going to have members backing social movements. Like revolutions against tyranny.

It being a vast sinister plot has little evidence to it.

The only true part is about Freemasons being involved in the Revolution, and it was more about liberals joining Masonry. As for them being for Communism, one of the 21 Conditions was about forbidding Communists to join Freemasonry due to “class collaboration.”

Well, I certainly don't trust those free masons. I mean, how can they stay in business if they don't charge for their services? Something fishy's goin' on if you ask me!
