Addicts "feel" better temporarily when given their drug of choice. But all you have done is made the addiction worse. The only effective treatment is to help the addict through the difficult period of learning to live life without the drug.

Temporarily giving puberty blockers only fuels a child's false hope that they could ever change sex. It makes the child's psychological issues worse. The only effective treatment is to help the child through the difficult period of learning to accept, and live life, as the sex they are.

There’s a difference between addiction, say to illicit drugs, and a treatment that’s prescribed by an attending physician. Your analogy fails.

Unless she means that transgender identity itself is effectively an addictive drug, which is so ridiculously wrong that any person claiming it is a hopeless case.

False analogy there, as we aren't talking about street drugs. Trans issues are a very different issue.

You neither understand the difference between an addictive drug an an hormone inhibitor, nor the difference between therapy and drug abuse.

Translation: the only acceptable treatment is the one that lines up with my anti-science gender ideology. It doesn't matter how many children have to suffer and live lives of unending torture. The important thing is that I never have to worry about whether or not the person peeing in the stall next to me has a penis!!

*What* false hope? Or rather, what *false* hope?

By the time they’ve turned 18, trans kids know that you can’t *entirely* change sex under current medical technology - at least not by a simplified, reductionist idea of biological sex. The best one can currently do by that standard is a pseudo-intersex state, which externally appears like that of the opposite sex. But, that’s still a major improvement in quality of life for the vast majority of trans people, and medical technology continues to improve… not to mention that there exist nonbinary trans people for whom some kind of pseudo-intersex state is pretty much what they want, anyway. Hope is not false if a positive outcome is achievable, even if it doesn’t look exactly like you think it would.

I wonder if ovarit will become new KF soon.
