[Discussion] Are T levels the only difference between incels and soyboys?

We both have the same SMV (0), so is testosterone the only independent variable between us? Is it the only thing that keeps incels from becoming soyboys, and soyboys from becoming incels?

The most widely accepted cause of inceldom is a set of negative characteristics that together make any attractiveness impossible. No negative trait alone is able to push any man to inceldom. Only one set of them achieves this.

There may be incels with high T levels and incels with low T levels. Only high T, being anything else unfavorable, will not save a man from inceldom.

There is no SMV, as there is no sexual market. Period.

To some extent, “Incels” ARE “soyboys”. As “incels” are whiny, hateful, misogynistic cry-babies, they “completely and utterly lack all necessary masculine qualities” (the definition of “soyboy”, according to Urban Dictionary), and will have a hard time attracting women.

Yup, no “negative trait alone is able to push any man to inceldom”. You have to have them all. You need to be both whiny AND hateful AND misogynistic AND a cry-baby.

Being a liberal, a happy man, a progressive, and a REAL man (i.e. a male feminist) is very popular with the women.

“T levels” refers to testosterone level, which the manosphere, with their obsession with appearing sciency and with bodybuilding (it is a popular doping drug) and their total lack of any actual knowledge of biology, believes to translate directly into a measure of “Manliness™”. Which, needless to say, is far from accurate. Indeed, in addition to various, potentially severe adverse effects on mental health and the cardiovascular and the urinary system, an excess of testosterone (and steroids in general) can lead to… balding (although getting hairier everywhere else), increased fat deposition in a feminine pattern that can even include growing non-functional breasts (the body metabolises excess androgens into estrogens), shrinking testes and decreased sperm count or even infertility. Not exactly what the manospherians are going for…

Indeed their total lack of knowledge when it comes to what testosterone does and their belief in its ability to apparently bestow mythical levels of “manliness” (whatever that is) ironically would make them quite bad bodybuilders. For all their adoration of the sport, they know fascinatingly little about what it actually entails, seeing it as just another way to “looksmaxxx” (or however they call it) as a way to finally get their dicks wet. Sure, as someone who loves the sport and works out himself to form my body I of course know that bodybuilders often abuse steroids. But all the ones I know of at least know all about what the stuff will do to them, what the side effects are and only the really stupid ones don’t take precautions and don’t regularly check in with a doctor to measure their blood levels. And they also know that ultimately you could inject yourself with tons of steroids, without a strict diet and workout routine (aka actual work) it will amount to nothing but a health hazard. Incels who are working out (rare since it actually requires work on their part) probably amount to “disco pumpers” who’d always skip leg day because “legs are not what the foids look at in the club” and would probably take steroids without even thinking about it so they can get to the imaginary “women begging to get fucked by them”-part faster.
Bodybuilding is not a sport for everyone, I know that. But it’s also not just pure superficial “I want to look hot” that drives someone to do it. And just like Incels don’t understand biology, women and especially what makes someone attractive to someone else, they also don’t understand bodybuilding. Sorry, I know, slight digression from the main topic, it just pisses me off everytime I see them talking about… well anything really, but this as well.
Oh and by the way, one thing high testosterone blood levels do (knowing from experience) is elevating aggressive urges. So are they saying that you have to be mindlessly aggressive to vote conservative and traditional? Yeah, sounds about right.

Abnormally high testosterone levels does not make you aggressive. It makes you horny and bald. Abnormally low estrogen levels, on the other hand… though the two often go together, because one’s body can produce the right amount of hormone precursors but the wrong hormone balance.

Hm, I’m pretty sure they do. Estrogen also doesn’t factor in aggression as far as I know, testosterone-mediated aggression is apparently antagonized by cortisol and serotonin (then again, I’m not an endocrinologist, just a biologist, so I’m not sure about what estrogen has to do with the two antagonistic substances). Edit: Genetically caused hair loss can be accelerated through high testosterone, but the true connection isn’t really clear from what I remember. I actually do have somewhat elevated testosterone levels and elevated blood pressure because of it, but never had problems with hair loss for example.
