Madam Secretary, I believe those comments are actually beyond irresponsible. They're borderline illegal. because those are effectively endangering the lives of the ICE agents on the streets. Are they not? I mean, they have targets on their back because of those comments.

KRISTI NOEM (GUEST): Absolutely. They're blatant lies and then to have elected officials doing that and portraying ICE officers that way is really unprecedented in this country. It's history-making. And the disrespect but also the violence that is perpetuated against these law enforcement officers. I want everybody to remember these ICE officers live in these communities they work. So, they're out there facing 8,000 percent increase in violence against themselves.

The ultimate irony here is that Judge Dredd is a character from a comic story in “2000 AD”: a British publication. And Dredd even forced Chief Judge Hershey - by threatening his own resignation - into repealing Mega-City One Justice Department's Mutant Immigration Act.

Who'd have thought it: the supposed symbol of future America's 'fascism' that the DHS tries to use as a 'based' meme turns out to be the most liberal.

Bitch, ICE is doing everything it can to look and act like the villains they absolutely are. It’s you working your ass off harder than Disney to rebrand villains as unfairly maligned by scared ignorant masses. Also you want the masses scared and ignorant to readily vilify the people getting snatched off the streets, out of churches, and very notably at their own immigration check-ins because they were following all the “right ways” to be in the country but ICE don’t give a fuck. Much like the people signing their checks they consider the law inconvenient to their plans for America and will do whatever they want to whoever they want and need everybody too scared to stop them. They’re operating on gang logic, except for the part where even most gangs have things they won’t fucking do.

The Lincoln Project, masters of fearmongering for the arch-right, have decided to put their talents to use for less overtly evil purposes. I wanted to say balancing their karma at first, but I kind of doubt they’ve changed they just don’t like that the awful things they wanted to happen are also happening to them and think it will be different with a more restrained authoritarian racist in charge.

They’ve released a pretty good piece depicting an ICE agent coming home to his daughter and she’s asking about his day. He stands silent and ashamed, pulling away ever so slightly when she reaches for his hand. It reflects something very real that happened when they first started putting kids in cages in K.K.Kaligula’s first term.

Of course, with ICE now deliberately recruiting mentally unstable criminals appealing to the last buried shreds of human decency in those who keep getting rewarded for outright cruelty and bigotry over any service to the law is going to be a doomed effort.

Will there be a post-Trump version of the Nuremberg Trials, where one declaration is that the Second Trump Administration ICE was a criminal organization?
