WTF!! YouTube hit us with a warning for our episode arguing that admiring Hitler is lame because he was basically a socialist hipster. Our first one ever. The powers that be REALLY don't want you to know about this.

So why is it that other videos that only state facts don’t get the same treatment by YouTube…?!
…oh, and considering what it says on their channel description:
Based Camp is a podcast focused on how humans process the world around them and the future of our species. That means we go into everything from human sexuality, to weird sub-cultures, dating markets, philosophy, and politics.
Malcolm and Simone are a husband wife team of a neuroscientist and marketer turned entrepreneurs and authors. With graduate degrees from Stanford and Cambridge under their belts
And this in their Posts section:
We showed our kids The Muppet Christmas Carol. They where convinced it was AI. We tried to explain to them what puppets where but they where "sus"
The latter makes the former ‘claim’ suspicious.
Practically speaking, just mentioning Hitler in a Youtube video is risky. Even if you have a history channel it’s likely to get a warning more or less at random. If your channel is at all questionable, and this one is, this is just asking for moderation trouble. Youtube uses heavy handed AI automoderation and it does weird things at times. When presented with a potentially problematic video that is difficult to categorize and bad, like this one, it favors getting rid of them.
A few weeks ago I read up a bit on why Hitler’s bunch used the phrase “national socialist” even after infiltrating Germany’s main socialist organization in order to destroy it. Apparently he was quite fond of the word “socialist” and redefined it to mean something very close to what was otherwise referred to at the time as “fascist” and claimed that actual socialists didn’t deserve to own the word, referring to them as “Marxists” instead. So that’s apparently the origin of the confusion, including the by-extension idea that the Nazis were really left-wing.

Freaking morons forgot about the Lebensborn, apparently. There was a whole breeding program for Aryans, but somehow, it flew under their radar.

Those two short-sighted, pasty breeders encouraged Trump to award medals for women with six children. Just like Sh!tler did, btw, and similar to what Putin is doing.
Just like Putin's regime claiming to be a democracy, Nazism was trying to ride the wave of socialism to mislead and betray. It's not difficult to see how much disinformation abusive regimes need to justify their power and crimes. Fascist regimes constantly claim to be fighting to restore freedoms when they're the same stealing your freedoms.
And I sense some malice here when a conspiracy theory of "they don't want you to know" is pushed when facing consequences for promoting other lies.
Confused?
