Don't fundies realise that the 10 commandments were written for the Jews and as part of the OT shouldn't even be part of Christianity? If I remember my documentaries correctly, the OT was almost left out of the Bible and was only included basically to give Christianity some sort of credibility by connecting it to Judaism (probably spelt that wrong).

Your reasoning has important flaws. One, God requires death in the OT for crimes that, not today, but since Jesus's times were no longer regarded as such. So, would you say that those who work on Sabbath are similar to murderers?, or those who eat pork?, I mean, it's Jesus himself who mocks that legalism, not me.
The psycho god worshipped by fundies also requires death for kids who sass their parents and for people who work on the sabbath. So, after church this Sunday, why not stop by the local McDonalds and gun down all the teenagers working at the counter? Two -for-one will get you an extra jewel in your heavenly crown!

The Bible also calls for death for adultery (Lev. 20:10, Deut. 22:22), working on the Sabbath (Num. 15:32-36) and disobeying your parents (Deut. 21:18-21). In fact, for the latter two (but not for homosexuality), it calls for stoning, an especially harsh method of execution. Furthermore, Deut. 27 contains a whole list of things that are "cursed", followed by a list in Deut. 28 of the horrible things (including, eventually, a terrible death) that will happen to you if you do them. Homosexuality is not on the list, although killing for hire, dishonoring your parents, moving a surveying stake and misleading a blind man are. This is just yet another homophobe cherry-picking the Bible for justification of his bigotry.
