If he's atheist he probably doesn't worship anyone or anything. I also see plenty of people promoting that neo-nazism is godly, even if that's also false. Then how would someone listen to God? Confused humans have been making many conflicting claims about what he would like or if he exists. Your particular god is also not the first one humans invented.
