@Bastethotep: A lot of incels are varying degrees of depressed. Nothing feels real, except maybe their obsession with getting laid. There exist people for whom that disconnect between feelings and reality makes them conclude they’re thinking more objectively, but in reality, their distorted thinking makes them *less* objective in regards to some things, particularly understanding human motivations and behavior.

Human brains are hardwired to breathe, eat, drink and sleep, to keep the heart beating and the cilia moving. Our societies are so complex that the hard-wiring to mate a certain type has faded over the millennia. Traditionally, we have gone for quantity rather than quality, as so many children died before the age of five, and few lived to adulthood.

Having the offspring is just the beginning, moid. You have to bring it up well and hope that it survives into adulthood. Love is the thing that keeps the parents together and increases the chance of their offspring staying alive. It’s both very real and very meaningful.
