Fundie 1: Hence the saying "a little knowledge leads one away from God and a lot of knowledge leads one to God]
I got in trouble for the same thing! What can go bang without a fuel and heat source?
Fundie 2: And IMO bangs destroy and kill, never seen explosions create anything other than destruction.

"Big bang" was originally a derisory term by proponents of the Steady-State Theory. Unfortunately, it stuck. So people have an inaccurate notion of something exploding into already-existing space.
Regarding the quote: a saying is something lots of people adopt and use. That "saying" is just the usual fundie drivel.
"What can go bang without a fuel and heat source?"
Humans.
Plus, you're freaking stupid. What would the 'explosion' that started the universe be destroying?
It would be more accurate to describe it as popcorn popping.
And beneath the popcorn is turtles..
Your idiotic speculation regarding the impossibility of the big bang as an explosion needs to look no further than THE GODDAMN SUN to be resolved. Stars are balls of a gas that, due to gravitational force and pressure, produces heat, and inevitably explode in a supernova once they reach a sufficiently high density, all while undergoing miniature eruptions of energy caused by fusing atoms due to the gravitational force. Stars are their own heat and fuel source, and so was the Big Bang singularity.
Also, Rebel777 is equating the messing up of buildings and people's faces (disorganization) with the destruction of matter, which are completely different things (with the latter being nigh impossible).
Antichrist: Can you actually see the explosions happening in an internal combustion engine? You have to take it on faith that they occur. It could be demons pushing the cylinders up and down.(/fundiespeak)
Actually, it is just possible to fit an IC engine cylinder with an observation port and take high speed film of the combustion taking place - you can only do it for a few cycles, but it can be done.

Of course this doesn´t prove anything, after all the demons could just create an illusion that makes it appear as if there is an explosion that drives the cylinder upwards, while in reality it is them who do it

:D
It's just a bloody name.
Ugh.
Confused?
