God made the rules for us – to protect us.
If he never made humans then murder would never be a moral issue. It’s only an issue for us – not God.
God can’t covet – He owns it all.
God can’t steal – again He owns the universe.
God can’t murder – He owns his creatures, He gave them life, He can take it back. (If you don’t like this truth it’s because you know you’re not ready to die; you’re not ready to meet God)
God can’t dishonor his mother and father – He didn’t have any, He’s eternal.
But yet as a man in Jesus Christ – God followed every single commandment. Why don't you look at the life of Christ for a moral judgment of God - then you can apply your "earthly" view of what God did as one of us - and then you'll see that God really is sinless.
[so rules don't apply to god, that's how he's "sinless" eh?]

I'm not afraid of death, and when I'm ready to die, I can accept it.
By the way, your god is a total dick. He can't murder, but he has no problem getting us humans to do his dirty work for him.
You know...you would think that a perfect being would at least try to set a good example of the morality that he is ordering us to adhere to, though...
And what of all those times that God has ordered people to kill for him, allowing us to break his own moral code just so that he can fulfill some arbitrary goal? Some messed absolute morality your religion has...
I love how people try to defend the idea of a mass-murdering deity by saying "he gave us life, so he can take it away whenever he wants!" I wonder what he would think of a human being who acted like that toward his/her children?
"As your mother I essentially own you, little Billy and Susie, so don't ever misbehave or I'll strangle you both.
...But I love you."
Here's a hint: If a particular act would be evil for anybody other than your god to perform, chances are that it's still evil when your god does it.
"...He gave them life, He can take it back. ..."
So, your god is pro- abortion?
I'm fully comfortable believing that ex-atheists exist: heck, by my definition, everyone who isn't an atheist is technically an ex-atheist. It's certainly possible to go from a position of not believing God exists to believing God exists.
However, those who feel the need to crow about it like they have some unique window onto the ebils of atheism are most probably lying for Jesus.
"I know there are rules, they just don't apply to me."
Isn't that one of the classic symptoms of being a sociopath?
So, God is just a computergamer who plays something similar to Sim Life or Spore :D
Well, in this case, of course, he can set his ruls for us as he wants, no matter how ridiculous they sound for us. But in this case, all of you fundies hopes of an eternal life in heaven, of course, are also for naught. Sim Elementzs don´t jump out of the computer. The best thing they might hope for is getting saved for some future use (or the next HDD crash)
;)
So, even though you maintain that God is perfect, and good and loving, it's alright for God to kill people because he owns us? What a rotten theology, Keith.
I guess God can go f*ck himself... I mean, it wouldn't be a sin.
Obviously not speaking of the god of the bible.
If he's so damn perfect, why does he play cruelly with people? He prefers to destroy his human mistakes, rather than heal them.
If that one is truly the father of Christ, then Christ must have inherited his goodness from his mother... ergo, imo, that makes her more worthy than the asshole patriarch.
God can’t murder He owns his creatures, He gave them life, He can take it back.
A thing that is given is no longer owned. My life is my own; your god can fuck off.
God can't covet LOL WHICH IS WHY HE'S A JEALOUS GOD AND IS SAD WHEN YOU "walk away from his almighty light and glory" ? Even though he already knew it would happen....RIIIIIIIGHT.
My mom and dad also created me, yet there is nothing stopping them from murdering me. Other than, uh, a basic form of common sense and possibly the law (but who gives a shit about that these days!) Also, I'm not ready to die because I enjoy things like fast food, titties, beer, shootin' the breeze, and reality TV.
God doesn't have a mother and father? So God wasn't the one that knocked up a teenage virgin out of wedlock to give birth to himself as a human, and then kill himself? Homicidal suicide? Adultery? [Statutory] rape? Being your own father?
Epic fail.
I'm unsure what to make of this. "God can't be cruel, even if he wanted to" doesn't strike me as the same thing as "God isn't cruel". Is this fundie trying to justify atrocities or something? I mean, there has to be a point to stupidity such as this?
God can’t murder He owns his creatures, He gave them life, He can take it back.
So abortion is ok? If me and a girl "gives a fetus life", it's our privilege to take it back? kthxbai.
God can’t murder He owns his creatures, He gave them life, He can take it back.
Well I guess the bible does give me permission to stone my disobedient children, so fairs fair in fundie world.
Of course the rules don't apply to God, the whole point is that sin is doing anything against God's will, so He's allowed to do absolutely everything he wants, and if we even dare to question this, He'll throw us in Hell.
But He LOVES us!
I have a problem with "God can't dishonor his mother and father- He didn't have any, he's eternal." Everything behind God is ETERNAL. He had a Heavenly Father and Mother just like we do. If we are righteous then we too become Gods and Goddesses. We become equal to our own Father. He used to be like us. He was righteous during his lifetime then became a God. "There has never been a Father without a Son or a Son without a Father." It is one ETERNAL round, a never-ending cycle.
I have something to say to "..." #598164. Are you comparing man to God? Man has the potential to become a God but being man, we make choices, mistakes, and we must pay for the consequences, whether they be good or bad. I'm all about free agency so make whatever decision you want. As far as abortion goes, a person made a decision, the baby is the consequence... abortion is just a way of ignoring your own consequence.
Don't confuse man with God.
"God can’t murder He owns his creatures, He gave them life, He can take it back."
And if I have children, I give them life too. Does that mean I can take it away at moments notice? It certainly does not!
"God can’t murder He owns his creatures, He gave them life, He can take it back."
If you give something to someone, wouldn't taking it back be stealing?
If not, then in "giving" us free will, God would have really kept ownership of that free will for himself. So it's really still his free will, so he would be responsible for the uses it is put to. Particularly if, being omniscient, he knew it would be put to bad uses.
You haven't really thought this through, have you Keith?
Somehow I doubt it but let's deal with each post.
God made the rules for us to protect us.
If he never made humans then murder would never be a moral issue. It’s only an issue for us not God. So God is immune to his own laws, Why exactly, because he has the most power? Because he doesn't have mortality needs like us. Not the best arguments there. Why does this seem like something a dictator would say?
God can’t covet He owns it all.
God can’t steal again He owns the universe.
God can’t murder He owns his creatures, He gave them life, He can take it back. (If you don’t like this truth it’s because you know you’re not ready to die; you’re not ready to meet God)
Might is right then body. We can't complain about people like Hitler, Caligula, Nero, John I of England, Fredrick, Arnold Amaury, The Robberbarons of the 1800's.
God can’t dishonor his mother and father He didn’t have any, He’s eternal. Then how did he come to being?
But yet as a man in Jesus Christ God followed every single commandment. Why don't you look at the life of Christ for a moral judgment of God - then you can apply your "earthly" view of what God did as one of us - and then you'll see that God really is sinless. How do you know? Oh right the holy bible, never mind. And I doubt it.
[so rules don't apply to god, that's how he's "sinless" eh?] BULLSHIT there body. Even rulers have to obey the rules. Unless they are hypocrites or seemingly pathetic.
bells: "As far as abortion goes, a person made a decision, the baby is the consequence.."
I was one of those "consequences", born to a mother who would much rather have aborted me, and it was the childhood from hell. Go fuck yourself with a rusty chainsaw, bitch.
Confused?
