What I find disturbing is how we in America is taking on the Egyptian culture instead of the traditional Greek/Roman culture we have always been. Our Government buildings in Washington and most state capitals have always reflected the Roman and Greek culture that we evolved from but if you drive across the country you will see lots of pyramids unlike I have ever seen before. I asked an architect once and he said it was because pyramids are a simple design and cheap to build but I personally believe it is us growing away from the good that we once were and we are evolving into an evil culture.

Because economic motivation is completely implausible.
Actually, quite a few of those buildings are coming from Masons (Washington Monument anyone?). These guys, being Gnostic, were pretty big on Egyptian references.
So you're mad that we're going from copying one ancient polytheistic Pagan culture for another? What's the difference? The art and architecture is cool and the Egyptians were engineering GIANTS!
I think the problem is that you're a bigot.
Uh; You know those Greeks? They were likely pretty swarthy. Not much different than North Africans.

Cleopatra's Needles; one of which is in New York. Another on the Thames Embankment in London:

Cleopatra's reign was during the Greco-Roman Ptolemaic era.
I like the Washington Monument. Obelisks were used in ancient Egypt as representations of the power of the sun god Ra; also of the 'Aten' by Akhenaten.
I refer you to the latter; he pioneered Monotheism , by the way. His rejection of the original Egyptian pantheon, in favour of the 'Aten': 'The Light of the World'.
Sound familiar, eh little Jimmy?
Anyhoo, enjoy your own obelisk in Washington DC, as I do. As well as your 'Christian ' George Washington.
Therefore enjoy your paradox too.
@SpukiKitty
The Lincoln Memorial; also in Washington DC:

Your argument is valid . b^_^d
....what the fuck do you have against the egyptians?
No really. This seems to be based on an irrational hatred of the egyptians and I don't get it.
I mean even if you use the bible and say they enslaved the jews (in a fictional story) the romans killed jesus (in another fictional story).
Someone. Explain how the train of logic reached this station?
"we in America is taking on the Egyptian culture"
"We is"? Are you retarded?
"I asked an architect once and he said it was because pyramids are a simple design and cheap to build but I personally believe it is us growing away from the good that we once were and we are evolving into an evil culture."
In other words: "I asked for the opinion of an expert in this matter, someone whose entire career revolves around this, and then completely disregarded it in favour of some bullshit I pulled out of my own asshole, because that's totally just as valid and opinions are really all equal anyway!"
But you seem to view complex subjects like culture and history through the grossly over-simplified and infantile lens of "Good versus Evil", so I'm going to go ahead and conclude that you're irredeemably stupid.
@Darkevilme
"Someone. Explain how the train of logic reached this station?"
Easy. Egyptians are dirty brown people, while the Greeks and Romans were/are somewhat less brown (though certainly darker than these cretins' beloved white Anglo-Saxon ancestors that they bleat on about all the time, though this one seems to be conveniently ignoring that fact).
Err.. where exactly do you think Greek Culture came from in the first place? Hint look to the South and East.
How come the Egyptians , Greeks and Romans all had an Ennead of nine Gods?
" Lars Porsena of Clusium by the Nine Gods he swore that the great house of Tarquin should suffer wrong no more"
A temple of Isis can still seen in Rome to this day.
What you are really seeing is different forms of the SAME culture
@Darkevilme
While the Greco/ Roman empires adopted Christianity Egypt didn't therefore they must be awful n shit. Then there's that Moses fairy tale.
Never mind that the Roman architecture and art we've carried on was by Olympian Gods believers. Even the most famous God and Jesus depictions are totally based on the imagery they used to depict Zeus, Apollo and that wondrous family tree, as are our visions of Hell.
I've mentioned this before, but it's really fun when you have Americans tour Italy or other European cities and freak out over the friezes and statues depicting Gargoyles and cherubs and halfman beasts on the Cathedrals and squares. I love it because they get that first realization their religion is a collection of myths reworked over time and it implodes their little idealogy.
Confused?
