Antimatter isn’t as common as it should be, by the Big Bang theory. Some scientists hope to find out why. But any creation advocate knows why.

The Bible tells us the real answer: the universe did not form by itself. God formed it, and He preferred matter to antimatter. The CERN scientists aren’t ready to admit that yet, and might never be. But they already know that the Big Bang theory doesn’t fit if the antimatter is missing. If they try to save the theory, they’ll only make it more complicated than it has already become, to explain a dozen other inconsistencies.

"Conservative news and views"
When did conservative become synonymous with "batshit crazy/stupid with a heaping helping of anti-science?"
If these idiots hate teh science so much, shouldn't they just go live in caves and use nothing but wood and stone tools? Hopefully somewhere far away from those of us who appreciate the good things science has done for us and also take warnings about climate change seriously.
That's not so much an explanation as it is a childish knee-jerk reaction to something that goes against your world view. "Not enoug antimatter? Well god doesn't like antimatter for some reason, so nyah!"
Yeah, and you guys want to join the adult scientists in their own game? Grow up first.
"But any creation advocate knows why. "
I feel a goddiddit coming on.
"The Bible tells us the real answer: the universe did not form by itself. God formed it,"
And there it is.
Nobody is trying to save old theories in science. Everyone wants to be the one to come up with a new and better theory. Knowing more is what drives all scientists.
Knowing less seems to be the driving force of creationists.
The fact that Big Bang is still the number one theory about the origin of the universe means that it explains almost everything and has very few, if any, inconsistencies.
You know absolutely nothing about that field of science at all, do you, Mr. Hurlbut?
It's almost refreshing to see some ordinary creationism instead of all these political posts we've been getting lately. What does say about the state of the world?
"And God did say "I wonder what happens if I reverse the polarity of the neutron flow", and He did call the result 'Antimatter', but He thought it was silly, so He stuck with normal matter for the rest of Creation, leaving only small bits of Antimatter to confuse scientists in six thousand years, because He was a bit of a dick like that"

Sometime in the middle of the nineteen-sixties ( I think) though it didn't really hit its stride till Bush Snr gained power.
"The Bible tells us the real answer:"
That's assiming that the bible is true. Not everyone believes the bible.
Hilariously, did you know that the Qu'ran encourages its followers to seek knowledge, and that early Muslims used worldly knowledge (math to be exact) to calculate the exact time of prayer? The kind of worldly knowledge Augustine would oppose?
Searching for the truth is more meaningful then claiming to have it without any effort.
The Big Bang theory does not do a good job at explaining why there is less antimatter then there is, so let's find out why.
the universe did not form by itself. God formed it, and He preferred matter to antimatter.
A magician who can do anything is an explanation for everything, and therefore an explanation for nothing. What causes the Plague? Goddidit. What causes lightning? Goddidit!
If we all accepted those explanations, we'd have no antibiotics or lightning rods.
Oh crap!
We can easily test your god theory.
Here is how:
1. Person A puts a .357 magnum in your stomach.
2. While you are on your knees in pain, pray to god to fix the problem, use John 14, 12-14 as a reference and reminder to god about his promises.
3. After a few minutes, the problem should be fixed and you should head to the nearest church and donate some money.
What? Your faith is not strong enough to take this test?
Antimatter explodes when it collides with normal matter. Therefore the only place antimatter could remain in existence is somewhere where there is no matter, which means we wouldn't be able to detect it with most of our primitive technology. Is this really so hard to understand? I mean, that's the first thing anyone says about antimatter, it explodes. Not exactly splitting hairs there.
I'm going to be charitable and assume that you're confusing antimatter with dark matter, which actually has faced the problem you describe. There are a number of theories that have been proposed to explain the discrepancy. God doesn't factor into any of them, not because scientists hate God or any of your other bullshit, but because God is by definition untestable and thus outside the realm of science. Even if your just-so story about God were true (and it isn't supported by any evidence; neither Biblical nor actual), it would tell us nothing about the way the universe works.
Please stop pretending that you have any idea about what's going on in the scientific world, or that your bizarre religious logic applies to the real world. You're only embarrassing yourself.
The big bang theory does not say the universe created itself- it only explains how the universe came to be in its present form.
The current line of thought is that matter and anti-matter aren't perfectly symmetrical (symmetry here being a different concept then the everyday use of the word) and that could explain why matter is more dominant.
However, the vast majority of the universe is filled with dark matter and dark energy- so called because it is unidentified. It could turn out that much of it is antimatter, so your argument hardly brushes aside the Big Bang.

You don't understand cosmology.
You don't understand particle physics.
You don't understand the difference between matter and antimatter.
In fact, you don't understand science at all.
Please refrain from attempting to teach it. Thank you.
God ... preferred matter to antimatter.
I will definitely have to read Genesis again.
I can't claim to know it by heart, word for word, but for some reason I can't recall the verses in which God reveals his preference for matter over antimatter.
It must be me, please excuse my ignorance. I'll go get my bible right now.
"The Bible tells us the real answer...."
That would be a first. You do know that the bible was written by people who had never heard of antimatter, or even of Antarctica or aardvarks, come to that? Yet you pass it off as scientifically valid, 2000 years down the line.
What a douche.
My Bible doesn't actually mention antimatter. It doesn't know about atoms or their constituent parts. It doesn't know the speed of light, or that it has a speed. It doesn't know there's no up or down in outer space...
Some scientists are devout Christians, but they know that the Bible is of no more use to them in their work than Alice in Wonderland, and for the same reason. It's literature, not physics.
What the heck?
@ BlackMageJ ROFWL!
PROTIP: The film "Angels and Demons" is not a documentary.
--EDIT--
@#1299163
The main weapon of Shadowships (in "Babylon 5") emits pure focussed antimatter (which can cut through anything , thus the fearsome power of these ships that'd even give Cthulhu nighmares!). Makes one think: what powers these ships, if they can fire antimatter ?!
Well, NOW I see the causal link..
See, God is omniscient so knew that Star Trek was coming (and did not like it) so He, by extension really didn't like antimatter..And made it scarce..ahem, pardon, *Smote* it, I suppose.
And caused much Star Trek to be cancelled.
Cuz He's All-Powerful like that.
I mean, don't get me wrong, I prefer my SW EsIV-VI, but comon, that's a bit of an overreaction, dontchathink?
But if he preferred anti-matter, regular matter would just be our anti-matter, effectively changing nothing from our perspective.
*watches Terry Hurlbut's head explode*
Confused?
