I just remembered a version of Superman from Justice League: Gods and Monsters. He acts like the Superman these assholes would love, being Zod-lite in attitude and in genetics, but was found and raised by illegal immigrants from Mexico instead of the Kents. He references the “heavy hand” he experienced from his adoptive country and how that impacted his morals once his powers emerged.

Conservatives unironically love to see Superman as “mighty whitey” sneering down his nose at pathetic mortal Americans like he’s a colonial “civilizing” a bunch of brown people while his natural superiority means he is just right by default. And if you have a problem with it talk to the fist because why lower himself to reason with primitives? Except they still see America as a white nation even though they are the brown people in this metaphor which is entirely antithetical to Superman’s very concept as a grateful refugee, representing the feelings of his creators whose families were refugees driven from their homes.

I just saw the movie last night. They are just making things up. It's an immagrant story because Superman is an immagrant. The way they are acting the film is about him defending undocumented immagrants when it's not. That's not in the movie at all.

I like that we have a film with an over the top unjustifiably evil villain. Too many films make the villain sympathetic and not actually evil. So I like that Lex Luthor isn't.

Why does brain damage or heart attacks change personality?

A non-corporeal soul that persists after the body is dead and dust should not even have an input port for alcohol, weed, meth, NOR depend on a minimum of oxygen reaching the brain, right?
But if the mind is a product of the physical brain, then damage to it would show up downstream of the brain’s operation.
