“The idea that even one’s most intimate, hidden and personal thoughts will be held accountable to the God of the Bible is abhorrent to our culture. Even Christians have become embarrassed to state such an idea openly.”
Really? I don’t find it abhorrent. I find GOD abhorrent, as described in the Bible, and as ‘explained’ by nutburger theists, but his omniscience? Should simplify things. If it turns out he’s real, he knows everything i saw, and thought, and the conclusions I came to. If he wants to punish me for that, that’s on him. I don’t have to come up with the words.
“The modern attempt is to put God and his Bible in an intellectual box and then label that box bigotry and intolerance.”
He sent two bears to tear up 42 kids for taunting a prophet. Bit of an intolerant, thin-skinned narcissist.
And when Pharaoh was going to let Moses and his people go, god needed an excuse to whip out his glory, so he hardened Pharaoh’s heart against Moses’ plea.
"Surely we can do what we want with our bodies, our unborn children and our thoughts.”
Meh. Like i said, if he’s real, he can judge me for what I did, and you for approving intolerant bigotry…
“The spirit of the people of Babel lives on with great passion!”
Nimrod was trying to touch the sky. We’ve been far, far higher than the Tower could have gone. If that pisses him off, he could say something.
“Then they said, “Come, let’s build a great city for ourselves with a tower that reaches into the sky. This will make us famous and keep us from being scattered all over the world.” Genesis 11:4″
Yeah, a just-so story to explain why there are multiple cultures on the world…
“Man’s spirit has not changed much over time.”
Says the man with an invisible friend.
“Now our culture has once again become fascinated with itself.”
Isn’t that pretty much the whole of human history?
