Oh, God, that’s the GamerGate “IS IT WOKE?” Reddit… The one for the whiners who go from Steam game community to Steam game community posting “IS IT WOKE? Just saw it with the FFT remaster. They streamlined the hiring system; before, they’d ask if you wanted a Male or Female soldier, and then they’d give you a random character. Now, they generate 20 random characters, 10 male, 10 female, and you pick one. But that “Male or Female” being gone means that it’s WOKE!

Quotee is actually devil652_, but that subreddit will be an absolute gold mine of quotes, in posts as well as comments.

What did the race of a game character not being white like snow do to you? Also, what did trans game characters do to you (other than be trans)?

Who are “they” and when was “the autism thing” created, according to this conspiracy theory? I was diagnosed as autistic about 10 years ago, when I had to have a psychiatric evaluation. And I’m 48 years old and I’m pretty damn sure I’ve been that way all my life. Also, my mother and some of our other relatives are totally convinced my grandma, my mom’s mom (who was born sometime in the 1930s I think), was autistic. I guess I’m really just saying, autism has been a thing that has existed for a long time, we just didn’t know what it was until recently.

I had to Google “plastic Paddy” because I’d never heard that one before. Basically it means someone who has Irish ancestry, not actually FROM Ireland but who “places a great importance on Irishness” as Wikipedia puts it.

But anyway, I’m not exactly sure what “looking Hispanic” or “looking like a plastic Paddy” would even mean. “Hispanic” basically just means people with a tie to the culture of Spanish-speaking countries, whether they’re white or black or Latino or whatever. Christianity (or just certain branches of it) is both the only thing which is not a religion *and* the only real religion, depending on whichever benefits Christian fundies more at that particular moment. Everything else is either a religion or not a religion depending on whichever benefits other people less. Consistency doesn’t matter when supremacy is at stake.

So they used to claim that “religion” in the First Amendment referred only to forms of Christianity, not atheists, Muslims or other religions. Now Catholicism is supposedly not covered, either…

2) Vaccines cause autism
3) Autistic kids are more likely to want to change their sex
4) So the ‘Mysterious They’ are promoting vaccines to this end.

That’s four leaps of logic in one quote. A bit much for some, especially those new to FSTDT. They might think we’re the crazy ones, for explaining it that way.
