Why would a so called civil rights movement be so hell-bent on destroying history? From destroying statues in an ISIS-like fashion to canceling shows and removing movies from circulation, even going to such extremes as completely changing definitions of words in the dictionary... it's a modern day book burning. Could it be that they fear Americans are going to figure out Black Lives Matter is taking notes directly from the Nazi party's Reich Minister of Propaganda, Joseph Goebbels? Did you even realize it? Is history repeating itself? "Those who do not learn from history are destined to repeat it."

The difference, A Covid Doper, is that BLM are more similar to anyone fighting ISIS. The statues they want removed were originally put up to promote white supremacism.
They want real history to be known, in place of the “Everything was fine because rich white people thrived” version.

The same people who protect those statues push laws to censor teaching the damned context behind them! Statues don't teach history, schools and textbooks do. You're fine and dandy destroying history and the entire educational system for that matter, it's your ego you wish protected. Those monuments exist solely for the posturing and self-glorification of a failed culture and a lost war against what became America (which proponents of the mindset that drove the secession claim exclusive entitlement to even today despite, you know, secession for stupid reasons and losing their bid at conquest followed by post-surrender terrorism) that wants to convince itself said failure was anyone else's fault. That and a very pointed gesture of hostility towards the black community for thinking rights are a matter of lawful principle rather than an inherited privilege to be invoked or ignored at the pleasure of a lawless elite. A message that literal traitors, war criminals, and enemies of the state are more deserving to be American by default than they are and will forever be treated as invaders in their own homes.

Basically, those statues are what people like you claimed mosques represented after 9/11 only without the claim being broad stroke bullshit.

New here, can someone explain what 6⁄1 is referring to? Are you referring to January 6th? Also Moose, calling people names isn’t very helpful if we want to be better than the people that are showcased on this site, with their constant name-calling of cuck, foid, terrorist, godless, commies, and …other… words. It just feels forced constantly saying Donald Fart. Soak Rates is pretty funny though. Sorry if I’m rude, but it feels a little hypocritical insulting these people after they use horrible insults.

If the statues were in a history museum then they would be promoting history. But they’re not. Instead they’re being used as a way to intimidate Americans and to promote a revisionist version of the Civil War. Or to just piss people off.

Most of the damned statues were erected in the 1920’s, after most of the Civil War veterans were dead, and they certain weren’t erected to remember history or any of that other self-serving bullshit Southerners tell themselves. They were funded by the Daughters of the Confederacy, which was the KKK with a veneer of legitimacy. And their stated goal was to remind black people that their oppresors still controlled the south…

Exactly! These weren’t nice historical monuments, these were more aesthetically-pleasing versions of burning crosses or ethnicist graffiti sprayed on an ethnicism victim’s home.

I would love to see Stone Mountain State Park taken over by anti-bigots and turned into a general monument to Civil War and slavery history with all the pro-ConFed crap removed and even the giant mountain sculpture changed to depict Lincoln, Grant & Sherman. True! In fact I think agribusiness should just ditch the chemical-based stuff and use the waste from Big Cattle. I remember seeing a photo of MASSIVE piles of critter waste from meat-packing plants with the caption stating that they just dump the stuff in rivers or landfills (I can’t remember) and I’m like “SELL IT AS FERTILIZER, DUMMIES!”.

I don’t get Big Business types. Reforms, treating and paying employees well, expanding to selling other things, etc. would be great for the bottom line in the long run (since their M.O. is ‘Make more money!’) yet they prefer to be stick-in-the mud inefficient boobs and trash the planet, instead.

Is it sadism? Is treating everyone and everything like crap part of the fun? The One-Percent is made up of alien beings who don’t think like normal real humans!

I think we should cut down on cattle rearing a little. The West is suffering droughts and some ranchers want to graze on national forests which puts them in conflict with bears and the newly reintroduced gray wolves. And you can guess what ranchers want to do to these predators.
