This actually doesn't require one to be a Rhodes scholar to figure out.
Unlike the gods of polytheism that you guys are accustomed to falling back on, God is always right.
In fact, He cannot do wrong.
So anything He does, He does it right.
Let's see you reconcile this paradox:
Exodus 20:13 Thou shalt not kill.
Ecclesiastes 3:3a A time to kill,

It's only a paradox if you believe the claim of perfection. As anyone who ever had a parent, teacher or manager/boss can attest, belief in one's own infallibility is as universal amongst those in authority as it is universally untrue. Indeed, the less power they truly have, the stronger their delusion. Following that line of reasoning, the Abrahamic texts come the closest they ever will to making... a kind of sense.
"In fact, He cannot do wrong.
So anything He does, He does it right."
Nope. Sorry. You can't use the arguments invented by the pagan Greek Philosophers to justify the God of theologians and modern philsophy. You have to stick to the arguments made to justify the actions of the dim-witted wrathful egotistical small-minded volcano god made by ancient Hebrews.
Reconcile this:
Hosea 13:16.
If your 'God' can be an abortionist, all you fundie Christains don't have the right to think about being 'Pro -Life'.
Also, War Crimes; 'I was only obeying orders'.
A common excuse used by certain defendants in the Nuremberg Trials.
Therefore thank you for admitting that your 'God' = Hitler.
Then you wonder why we're Atheists, AV1661WhoShouldBePutDownByA VET?!
...and for someone who has over three million posts in that forum, when Mr. Strawberry says this:

I wouldn't expect you to understand, but for those who may be lurking and really care enough to know what others think, I say this:
For the record, it's not that God cut their lives short, it's that He allowed them to live in the first place.
No, it's that your god kills them in your bible. You can't get round mass baby killing whichever way you look at it
You're suddenly very conspicuous in that particular thread by your absence .
Extremely telling, that.

@AV1661VET
Can we drop the inquisition now?
As is this.
Exodus 20:13 is part of a litany of rules that include many stipulations about killing. The actual meaning of the commandment is clearly implied by its context: deliberately (not accidentally) killing somebody in circumstances other than war or self-defense. There is no contradiction between that and Ecclesiastes, which presumably has war and self-defense in mind, so there's no paradox to reconcile.
Understand your sacred text before you start trying to use it as proof of anything.
@Shephard Solus:
I think Fundianity actually makes a creepy amount of sense if "God" is really the Devil.
Think about it: Who would be more likely to want us to despise Creation and to forgo the use of the senses, reason and intellect endowed to us, instead demanding that we blindly follow and worship an outdated book with very screwed-up morality - the Creator, or the one seeking to usurp the Creator?
Some Person: "So...you're saying we know Hank is always right because it says in the list he's always right!"
AV1661VET: (Smiles and nods in agreement)
SP: "And that the list is reliable because it was dictated by Hank!"
AV1661VET: (Wider smile and more eager nodding)
SP: "And that the way we know Hank dictated it, is because it says in the list that he did!"
AV1661VET(gleefully): "That's right!"
SP: "But that's circular reasoning!! All it says is 'Hank is always right because he himself says he is always right'!!"
AV1661VET(even more gleefully): "NOW you're starting to get it!! Oh, it's always so REWARDING to see someone come around to *Hank's way of thinking!!*"
"Let's see you reconcile this paradox:

Here's another one:
Everything needs a creator.
God doesn't need a creator.
"In fact, He cannot do wrong. "
Unless he disagrees with AV1661VET. And really the can do no wrong is frightening mentality.
"Let's see you reconcile this paradox:
Exodus 20:13 Thou shalt not kill.
Ecclesiastes 3:3a A time to kill,
"
Simple it is a contradiction. Actually there are a number of places in Bible that contradict that.
So, he intended for Adam and Eve to eat the fruit when he place the tree in the Garden of Eden?
He meant to flood the world when he created humans?
I see no paradox, I just see rows from a flawed book full of contradictions.
It's not a paradox, it's a contradiction.
The book is riddled with them, probably because it's origins are a scattershot of many scrolls that were altered and collected but never cohesively realized. As ancient astronauts be,,, oh sorry, as Biblical Scholars conclude: Parables, the retelling of old folk tales, it's apparent at the beginning, literally, with two contradicting Genesis.
Confused?
