Or did you recognize a problem and take steps to fix it? I REALLY hate this 'love it or leave it' attitude. This country is my home. I spent 20 years in uniform to defend it. That does not mean i will ignore shit when it's rising.
And if i have to take a symbolic act to get someone's attention, that's far better than letting the shit flow onto the floor, now, isn't it?

This 'all or nothing' approach, that takes any criticism of real problems as hating America? That's not patriotic.

There is neither a true communist nor facist country on this earth. Communism lost against capitalism or more likely against its own autocratic Realisation. Facism is super selfdestructive. Right after 9/11, all those cheap little flags got mounted on 2/3rds of the cars in town. By Halloween, half of them were ragged, faded, or laying in the gutters.
Really an impressive display of patriotism, letting the flag block a sewer because you never looked at it after mounting it...

Uh burning the flag is the proper way to dispose of it. And he is saying burning the flag in general so I am assuming he does not know that. I know there is a huge difference between burning the flag properly for disposal and burning it in defiance or to make a statememt. Something tells me he doesn't.
