It wouldn't shock me if we got to a point where rape victims refussing to use preferred pronouns became the new 'well she was drunk'. 'Transphobes can be raped too I just have less sympathy for bigots'.

While I am sure trans-women rapists exist I doubt they are all that common and really not who you should be afraid of.

I checked whether this was based on an actual event, and apparently yes it was. Or rather, two separate events.

British pro kickboxer Tara Wolf was accused of assaulting a woman in 2017 and went on trial in 2018 - she was convicted, but was only lightly punished because this was ordinary physical assault and not sexual assault, let alone rape. There was some controversy about whether the accuser should be allowed to deadname and misgender her (“I knew him as a man and still think of him as one”). It’s not clear (from the news sources I found) whether she was actually forced to address her properly or whether she felt like she had to in order to not torpedo her chances of winning the trial, only that she really would rather have not.

The other event was Isla Bryson, who was accused of raping a woman in 2020, and then started her transition some time after. Unlike the previous incident, both the courts and her accuser freely and repeatedly deadnamed and misgendered her, against her protestations. The argument (by the court in question) was that she was presenting as male at the time of the rape and thus her past self should be described accordingly. She was also convicted and sent to prison last month; the main controversy involved in the case was whether she should be sent to a women’s prison (she was).

The specific combination of “forbidden to misgender their rapist in court” remains theoretical at time of writing, so you can’t claim that it’s already happened. That being said, the issue is a can of worms on at least two different levels.
