Shew I get how this kind of humor isn’t productive, but at the same time the world really is too damn woke…I can tell just from playing games, and that’s a problem. Between the ugly ass women in Mortal Kombat, the changed dialogue in MARIO games, yes Mario games, and the….lets just say situation in SpiderMan 2…..ugh I’m so tired of the constant political mind set of both fuckin parties, liberals AND conservatives….like, omg I’d give just about anything if Obama and Trump BOTH were never a thing….mostly Trump, but seriously I’m tired of politics being so out of control that you can’t play a damn game without being reminded of it

Considering the sheer number of things that touch on philosophy—you’ll remember that politics is “just” applied philosophy, I hope—I’m not sure how much content would be left if you cleansed a game of everything you’d deem political, especially in RPGs, whether Japanese or Western.

For those of you who aren’t aware: “changed dialogue in Mario games” refers to the Switch remaster of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
In the original Japanese version, Vivian is a trans woman who was rejected by her sisters because she was, in her words, “no longer their brother”. This was cut from the original English translation, but the Switch version puts it back in.
Cue a long, sustained screaming fit from people like this dipshit.

OK, I think I might have heard of this crap before and forgot about it, or maybe I’m just finding out about it now, I’m not too sure either way….but I guess that game was just too “woke” for people like “EarselBill” here. Which is kinda funny, considering everything I’ve heard about Stan Lee!
Oh yeah, and I guess the other complaint going around was that Mary Jane wasn’t hot enough. Ugh…I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, and probably a few more times before I’m through…play a damn porn game if what you’re after is “hot chicks in video games.” Take it from an admitted PERV like me, there are some good ones out there, lol

My take on the whole thing? I honestly don’t really care if “woke” character creators in recent RPGs have LGBTQIA+ options; such as separate genitals from body types and voices separate from pronouns and such. You know why? Because NONE of those games are actually forcing me to make a non-binary or transgender character. Not that there is anything wrong with making such characters.
So while the dumb haters keep on shitting on Dragon Age: The Veilguard for supposedly “going woke” by giving us such options (and by giving us black elves in the trailer, no seriously), I meanwhile am going to greatly enjoy using the (advertised) very versatile character creator to make myself some tall, buxom, & amazonian player characters. Because even some non-porn games can do it for a perv like me. Especially since we can FINALLY romance a female Qunari (Taash).
…Granted, we can also finally romance a female Dwarf (Lace Harding) in Veilguard, but that’s less the point I’m trying to make.
