The Gospel is a message of hope, that God (Jesus) loves you, and if you believe, you will spend eternity in heaven with him. That simply isn't true if Jesus was an invented fiction of Josephus. If you are imprisoned here then what you are told is opposite of reality, you are sold fiction of a better afterlife while the church piles up riches and laughs all the way to the bank. They know the truth and are playing you for everything you are worth. The Church is using alien knowledge to rule over you, get wealthy, and play us like a bunch of dummies. Hope sells. Who wants to hear how Artificial Intelligence will be the death of us all? Hardly a soul. The human being is wired toward hope, which is why so many Gospel churches exist in Amerika. Have you noticed as things in Amerika trend worse, the preachers become more hysterical? No one makes the obvious connection - that the myth and worsening conditions are related.
