You know, the funny thing is, if you look at the Bible itself, what has Lucifer done that was really so much worse than everything YHWH has done? Sure, Luci defied YHWH and encouraged us humans to do the same. But is that really comparable to YHWH nuking Sodom and Gomorrah or destroying the unity that was supposed to be Babel or killing all the firstborn of Egypt? Not to mention the sheer horror of eternal damnation…
And yet despite the fact that Jesus actually tried to save Christendom with the New Testament, most of you idiots ignore his teachings in favor of greed, hatred, bigotry, fearmongering, hypocrisy, pedophilia, etc…
So, yeah, if you look at it that way I’d rather be a Satanist than a whatever the hell fundamentalist Christians are. Granted, I’m actually an Atheist, but most of you fundies (erroniously) think that’s the exact same thing anyway.

There are actually a few theistic Satanist communities. My understanding is that they tend to have different mythological basis on who Satan is, different than how the entity is depicted in the Bible. I think that they are a spin-off of 19th century theosophists.
But the majority are atheists and DID pick the name to offend Christians. Mostly the fundie types who are obsessed with Satan beyond how he’s depicted in the scriptures. Also the serpent in Genesis isn’t the devil, the author of Genesis just intended it to be a talking snake.
But what makes you quiver is that Satanists aren’t a parody religion like the Pastafarians. They are a legit community of people who identify with the figure of the antihero devil and reject arbitrary authority. They’re a full on religion and expect the law to treat them like it.
Anton LaVey always claimed he didn't actually worship the 😈, Satanism was just his brand of atheism. Some of the others probably only do it for religious and political reasons, because it does offend. However I do like the tenets of the Satanic Temple.
Even if he does exist, Satan would be a far more likeable character than you, Anglin.
