[From "Ellen Page still exists"]
No I'm not talking about the actress, even though she still clearly exists: Ellen Page is a woman, will always be a woman, you know the drill. Being an evil dyke wasn't enough for her apparently, she had to go an extra level of sick delusions.
But I mean literally Ellen Page still exists. As in Ellen.Page the website which the nutty actress started in 2014 after joining Calgary embarrassments Tegan and Sara in their quest to legitimize their sick lifestyle choices.
Just like Bruce Jenner will always be the actual name of an actual man, Ellen Page will always be the actual name of an actual woman. Yes yes she wants to be called "he" and "Elliot" now, but as I noted before Snoop Dogg wanted to be known as Snoop Lion. You saw how long we stuck with that. As is so often the case, Spiked-Online's Brendan O'Neill explains it so well:
[…]
I'll go him one further: Ellen Page still needs what Ellen Page has always needed: a good dick inside her and let her be Juno in real life. Just another straight white chick from Halifax.

F*ck off. Wether he’s Ellen Page or Elliot Page, doesn’t change the fact he’s still a good actor and a far better person than you are (not that the latter’s much of an achievement…). So, with that said, who the f*ck cares what he wants to call himself? Especially if you’re not getting in his pants anyway.
You don’t get decide the names or identity of another adult. I’ve got trans (adult) kids. They have gone to great effort, including years of counseling, and bothered to go to court to get their names changed. They're my kids, I changed their diapers and raised them, yet I never struggle with their names or genders and practically even forget that they are trans sometimes because they pass so well and genuinely live as their expressed gender in every respect. Then along will come a relative that deliberately deadnames them. Guess how often my kids come around after that? I don’t know that they’ve seen grandma for at least a couple of years, and others much, much longer. One kid changed their last name too now, feeling like it is just too much baggage. And to what benefit? There are several nicknames in use in the family; it isn’t that hard!
I get it: you think it’s weird for someone who was born a woman to act like a dude.
So why, why do you have to whine about degeneracy and/or promote genocide?
Why is it that transphobes and homophobes always whine about how difficult it is for you to accept behavior and language that you find unfamiliar and uncomfortable/objectionable? Imagine how much more difficult it is for LGBTQ people to have to live on the same planet as you assholes. So you don’t understand…well, who cares? You don’t HAVE to understand. I, as a cis woman, barely understand either. It’s not part of my lived experience. But I DO understand that my role is to be happy that Elliot is happy, and to be respectful of his pronouns, and to otherwise keep my mouth shut because it’s none of my fucking business. Just like it’s none of yours.
Also, having read the linked article, can we stop with the complaints about the pronoun ‘they/them’ being used as a singular pronoun? Singular ‘they’ has existed in English since the 14th century and nobody gave a shit until the 18th when prescriptivist assholes got their (see what I did there) panties in a collective wad about what is and isn’t proper language.
It sounds like they’re trying to argue that the public image of a well-known person can take on an identity separate from the person themselves, which, in a vacuum, is a subject that reasonable people can still reasonably debate about. It also sounds like they’re taking that position for the purpose of supporting transphobia and homophobia. But at most, assuming the general argument is valid, that only suggests that “Ellen Page” the former identity (as the public knew it) is a separate (and partially fictional) entity from “Elliot Page” the actual person, not that transphobia or homophobia are in themselves valid.
(That’s ignoring the last line, which suggests a very ugly and narrow view of humans in general.)

I don’t deny Elliot’s very pretty regardless of gender (at this point, he still looks like a pretty, masculine-attired female and I agree ‘Ellen’ was a cute ‘lady’). I can kind of understand why hetero men and lesbian women with a huge “Ellen Page” crush would be weirded out.
That said, transphobia is still stupid and I commend Elliot on coming out and wish him well in his new life and transition.

I figured that as well. Basically the “loving a shadow” and treating a public aspect of someone as a separate being of sorts. I guess it’s understandable especially if one was attached to the former identity-figure…
* Ellen Page the cute gal who stared in Juno and Hard Candy .
* Bruce Jenner the former Olympic athlete guy.
* Syd Barrett the raven-haired, awesomely cool, super-sexy, chick-magnet, psychedelic rock singer (instead of some older frumpy balding reclusive guy named Roger who hated being a rocker).
* Any public figure who’s really different now than they were before or who didn’t turn out to be what one hoped they were. Some folks still hold on to “Mother Teresa the selfless woman who provided healthcare to the poor” rather than “Mother Teresa the weirdo who merely kept poor people in beds so they didn’t die in the street and didn’t do much involving healthcare… while getting donations from tyrants and con artists”. Sometimes the illusion is inspirational and edifying… It’s like the whole issue from The Simpsons of Springfield and their town’s founder, Jebediah Springfield.
Heck; I even miss the days where I could enjoy Bill Cosby’s awesomely hilarious comedy without, “OMG! I’M LISTENING TO A PSYCHOPATHIC SERIAL RAPIST!”.
That said; If something involving sex or gender identity is the issue, it’s best to accept the change. If one wants to still enjoy the shadow, keep it as a fictional, alternate-universe construct.

Gonna take an affront to at least some of that. Mother Theresa was a fucking demon in human skin. Why the very living fuck should she deserve to be exemplified, even as a damned, hollow shell? Your type of thinking is what brought about the bloody John Paul the second insanity into my old country. No, you should not detach the public image from the real person, not even when it makes you feel good to do so. It creates nasty fucking ghouls, that will just continue to pollute and persist in the general human psyche till forcefully expunged.
Confused?
