I strongly recommend reading about Antoine Béchamp and his spot on Terrain Theory, which was later proved by Royal Raymond Rife as being the best way to explain how "viruses" work and what they actually are.

Béchamp’s theories - according to which the basic elements of life are “microzymes” that can devolop to anything from enzymes to bacteria to human body cells and that germs are actually manifestations of disease caused by bad environments, rather than the cause (in short, a combination of spontaneous generation and miasma theory) - have long been disproven; it may be noted that he died in 1908, more than a decade before the emergence of molecular biology.

Royal Rife was a pseudoscientific quack and convicted fraud whose claims - the evidence for which, of course, he never published - had always been rejected.

Also, please explain why epidemiology works if contagion theory is wrong.
