How far can he go before the cult finally goes beyond any pretense of being christian? Once they are past this point, how can actual christians excise them from their community and isolate them, so as to deprive them of any credibility in a religious context?

Well if Trump would achieve apotheosis, he’ll probably be a minor god of greed or something like that on the “chaotic evil” alignment. More wealth, more power, more pussy, more attention, more hamberders & coke… But in no sane universe would he ever be considered anything like a “god of good”.
