To become more equal than other animals on the politically correct farm, the most privileged among us have to pass themselves off as oppressed. This has caused an endless stream of phony “hate crimes” against homosexuals. At least the 1998 Matthew Shepard killing — liberals’ answer to the Passion of Christ — wasn’t staged. But as few seem to realize, it wasn’t a hate crime either:
The story garnered national attention when the attack was characterized as a hate crime. But Shepard’s killers, in their first interview since their convictions, tell “20/20's” Elizabeth Vargas that money and drugs motivated their actions that night, not hatred of gays.
If punks kill you for drug money, it’s just another sad tale of life and death in a disintegrating civilization. But if it happens to a homosexual, it is a National Tragedy to be hyped for years.
Obviously if homosexuals really were “oppressed,” the media would be able to uncover violence against them motivated by their repulsive behavior (i.e., genuine “hate crimes”) — especially considering how aggressively they have been shoving that behavior in everyone else’s face.

Obviously if homosexuals really were “oppressed,” the media would be able to uncover violence against them motivated by their repulsive behavior (i.e., genuine “hate crimes”)...
A quick Google search is all it takes, idiot.
...especially considering how aggressively they have been shoving that behavior in everyone else’s face.
Then you shouldn't mind if hate crimes against Christians increased, given how Christian conservatives have been shoving their agenda in everybody's face lately.

What is that noise in the distance? Why, I do believe it to be Mr. Blair, turning in his grave.
That's strange; I know people who are homosexual and I have never had any "repulsive behavior" shoved in my face, ever.
From Wikipedia: "the violence against Shepard was due to how the attacker "[felt] about gays," per an interview of the attacker's girlfriend who said she received that explanation."
If we want to see oppression of gays, we don't need to go further than Fred Phelps, who of course picketed Mr Shepard's funeral. Two of his picket signs read: "No Tears for Queers" and "Fag Matt in Hell. But, perhaps he was motivated by money and drugs...
Edit. I HAVE had repulsive behavior shoved in my face, when I think about it; excessive greed, disregard for other people's wellbeing, racism, sexism, hatred of gays. None of it from people I know are gay, though.

Sure, believe a couple of killers.

1) It's only repulsive to you and you ilk.
2) Brandon Teena
You are sadly misinformed, Mr. Blount. In court one of the killer's girlfriends testified that he hated gays and he said he felt that Matthew Shephard was trying to engage him sexually.
You're either misinformed, an idiot or a liar. Smart money says you're all three.

You are quite the hatemonger aren't you? The only thing that is repulsive is your bigotry.

This is why the Romney rich keep whining about how much they are opressed.

Peter Griffin: You know that whole Vietnam thing? Never happened.
Brian Griffin: Oh yeah, but don't mention it around the Veterans Hospital. Those guys are really committed to the lie.

You owe me a new irony meter.
>beat and torture a man half to death, then tie him to a fence so exposure can carry him the rest of the way
>totally for drug money, honest
Right. And I guess you spend so much time pulling the legs off of insects because you can't afford a can of Raid?

Waaarrioooors! Come out to PLAY-aaaaay!
*laughs* Oh, that one's a classic which I've not had the pleasure of watching in quite a few years. Thanks for the reference, Phil.
@ Da Rat Bastid
I drive an old beat up Chevy Suburban, a rat truck. Crucified on the hood is a plastic rat, with screws through his feet. Next to him it says;
"Cheeses" The
Dirty Rat Bastid.
Great minds think alike. ;-)

So, that's the reason the rich need more tax breaks and the poor need their assistance programs cut?
That entire ABC special was bunk--full of gossip from bogus sources claiming that Shepard was HIV positive and a crystal meth addict. On top of that, McKinney wrote a letter while in prison which stated that he "flipped out and began to pistol whip the fag with my gun." Immediately after his arrest, McKinney called Shepard a "faggot" and a "queer" in a conversation with the police. Furthermore, the interview with McKinney was also, most likely, illegal. In the plea agreement spearheaded by Matthew's parents which spared McKinney the death penalty, McKinney agreed never to discuss the case with the media. Of course, leave it to Blount to cherry-pick smears by the "liberal media" when it suits his despicable agenda.
Homosexuals are "the most privileged among us"? Really? REALLY? Not being able to get married, being figures of hatred and mockery, having major public officials promote their imprisonment- sure, how very privileged!
(also, how do I do italics?)
the most privileged among us have to pass themselves off as oppressed.
The irony burns so fucking bright in this idiot's shiny, shiny mirror!
Christians rule the USA while constantly screaming how 'persecuted' they are.
Oh David, how true. If only more people showed the same degree of moderation and well-reasoned judgment as you do. Your equanimity and affability are a shining beacon to us all. I agree, the hyperbole is tragic and worse than punks killing you for drug money.
Obviously if fundamentalist Christians really were "oppressed", the media would be able to uncover violence against them motivated by their repulsive behaviour, especially considering how aggressively they have been shoving that behaviour in everyone else's face.
and no chance the thugs were spinning "drugs and money" as a way of blackening the character of the victim?
Killing a druggie - the way of the world
killing a gay bot, picked up in a gay bar - not so acceptable in polite society
@DevilsChaplain
Awesomesauce!
Thanks!
So if I did the same with a "b", I'd get....

I gotta learn this basic HTML stuff.
Bold Italic!
Can I do this for colors?

Phooey, I guess not.
Now I don't have to write in Upper Case to emphasize while looking totally stupid.
"...the 1998 Matthew Shepard killing liberals’ answer to the Passion of Christ..."
Uh, no. We don't worship Matthew Shepard nor claim that he's going to void our transgressions. Matthew Shepard was a real human being murdered by homophobic a**holes. Jesus Christ is a fictional character.
"There are none so blind as those who would not see."
"If thine eye offend thee; pluck it out."
Assholes like Blount not only refuse to see unpleasant truths, they try to make everyone else as blind as they are.
"To become more equal than other animals on the politically correct farm,"
Using a book written by a socialist where the good guy is a Trotsky stand-in advocating equality to try and promote conservative politics. That seems just a bit INSANE, but maybe that's just me.
Confused?
