I hope Tommy lives to be 100 - wondering why he hasn't heard from his daughter in decades, or ever met any grandkids.

Let the daughter destroy some of his stuff. If he cannot understand the pain he is inflicting, he has to feel it directly.

I honestly don’t understand these types of parents, like seriously, all you’re doing is ensuring that your kid is likely to cut you out of their lives and resent you.

Also… if you really wanted to punish her, instead of destroy a expensive computer, you could just… sell… like why destroy it?? So you can assert dominance or something? It really doesn’t make any sense and just makes you an utter short-tempered prick who likely goes off the handle at the slightest bit of provocation.

Y’know, kids remember things.

She can do far more psychological damage in the future by doing one thing that’ll be nothing to her, and by doing exactly that: nothing. Except one thing:

Forgetting about you.

She can mentally torture you by not so much as raising one finger on her hand: even to so much as type an e-mail to you on a laptop she completely owns, because she’s at the age where she’s working and bought that computer.

Because you forgot to not raise your hand: holding that gun which caused her to remember to forget you.

When dad is alone in a nursing home I wonder if he'll say "at least cops thanked me". In 2011-2012 for 9 months I was working security at a warehouse. My boss was tough when she needed to be but never destroyed personal property. She was gentle when needed. That was tough love.

Saw a report that Dad and Daughter have reconciled. The only thing he regrets is some of the language he used in the video.
I suspect she just shifted to silent running until she could get out of there.

Yeah, to me that’s the crucial part. She SAID stuff, but there’s no indication that she didn’t do her chores as directed. He didn’t find out about this stuff until he went looking for it.
So, she wasn’t rebellious, just venting, and he got THIS upset at it? What a snowflake.
