I will not listen to a guy who busts out with a Joker impression upon hearing that Biden won the election… him and the kooky preacher-lady with the African & South American angels (said angels turned out to be ‘Team Biden’, evidently) who sounds like the worst cover of “Rama-Lama Bang-Bang” (I actually wrote about that under a video of these two on YouTube: @SpukiTheLoveKitten75 - “Worst cover of ‘Rama-Lama Bang-Bang’ ever!” ).
Isn’t there something in that old book…about it being easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven? I was never religious but I’m pretty sure I picked up that nonsense from somewhere.
Funny how the thieves that traffic in religious fantasy never mention that, & that their marks are so goddamned stupid they fall for it every time.
There’s a difference between Ancient Israel and now; in the former, the Levites, in addition to their religious role, also had administrative functions and thus received a tithe, along poors. It was the same before the Enlgihtenment, when the various Churches had religious, educative, health and welfare functions. Not so now.
Can you afford it, Kenny boy? Tithe in FAITH, which gives you a better income, tax free, apparently about $300 million.
Personally, I’d feel better giving my money to a homeless drunk, he’s less of a coalbiter than you.

At least the homeless drunk is a tragic homeless person and is still going to at least spend some of that money of food to survive.
The fact that these cons stress “Give until it hurts, even if you are dirt poor” is pure evil!
That story about the Widow’s Mite was not an endorsement of the impoverished giving every cent to a church OR ELSE! Jesus was merely commenting on the fact that the widow was dedicated enough to do what she did even if it was utterly ludicrous and self-destructive.
Also; What JeanP said. Religious institutions before the age of Faith / State separation were CIVIC institutions that provided all sorts of Public Assistance.
Certain scriptural teachings and prohibitions are created for a reason and when said reason is no longer an issue then said teachings need to be considered obsolete.
