In a perplexing move, Egypt has told the United Nations Human Rights Council that queer people do not exist.

Representatives of the country made the statement earlier this month in response to a new push from the UN to end discrimination against LGBTQ people worldwide. Egypt rejected the new guidelines for protecting sexual orientation and gender identity saying the nation “does not recognize the terms mentioned in this recommendation.

Oh no, Egypt is telling the world people like me don’t exist. Ok, then there is no need for all the anti-homosexual laws in Egypt, Saudi-Arabia and elsewhere, right? And if you see me and my boyfriend fucking on the street, it must be a hallucination, obviously, so nevermind us!

Finally; The U.N. needs to root out who can join their organization. All countries should join but each individual member needs to support stuff like Human Rights.

Eh, the UN's suppossed to be about diplomacy and stuff. Excluding countries run by assholes doesn't really help. It's good to have a place where all countries can come together to sort shit out. Besides, I think just about every country probably fails in the "human rights" department to some degree. But yeah, it's fucked for some of the worst in that regard to be involved in the human rights council.
