Suddenly, just as the Obama-led campaign to foist the radical homosexual agenda on the U.S. armed forces is reaching its denouement, the American people are getting a taste of forced intimacy - and they don't like it. In airports around the country, they are being subjected to intrusions on their personal space by people and machines of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
Team Obama's line is that “most” in uniform think there will be no problem, or at least “mixed” good and bad repercussions. But if even an estimated 10 percent choose to leave the service - let alone 40 percent of Marines, who, according to the leakers, think repeal will cause problems - the effect will be traumatic, possibly devastating, for the U.S. armed forces. If tens of thousands choose not to submit and “vote with their feet,” as the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Adm. Mike Mullen, has called on them to do, it may become impossible to rely only on volunteers to staff our military.
In that case, a vote for repeal of the 1993 law barring homosexuals from the military amounts to a vote for reinstating the draft.

DADT does not ban homosexuals from serving, only making reference to their homosexuality. Gay service members will not be forcing intimacy on anyone any more than heterosexuals, and likely much less. there is much more heterosexual assault than there ever has been homosexual assault.
"In that case, a vote for repeal of the 1993 law barring homosexuals from the military amounts to a vote for reinstating the draft."
They will keep running this scare tactic for all its worth.. and then they will beat the fuck out of that dead horse non-stop just like they do with all of their other failed arguments. To them, if an argument doesnt work, then keep using it until it gets ingrained into peoples minds until it is unquestioned... which is what they wanted in the first place...no questions.
I can certainly understand why conservatives hate this. If the draft were to be reinstated, they would be at risk of military service, and we all know conservatives prefer to let others serve. Just run through the list of cons who have never served...

And I love how you hate the airport searches etc, yet you were fine with it while that fuckstick bush was "running things."
"In airports around the country, they are being subjected to intrusions on their personal space by people and machines of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA)."
I bet when the Bush adminstration instated the TSA, you were A-OK with it, but now that Obama is president, it's all a part of the evil gay communist muslim atheist plan, right?
"(...) let alone 40 percent of Marines, who, according to the leakers, think repeal will cause problems (...)"
I'm no expert on this, but last I heard, a study BY THE MILITARY showed that for the most part, the army had no problem repealing DADT, so excuse me if I don't exactly take your word. Oh, but I forget! It's also a part of the evil gay communist muslim atheist plan, am I right?
And if the bigots choose to leave, GOOD FUCKING RIDDANCE, and good luck trying to cash in on your military experience with that dishonorable discharge, you deserters!
Most of the military, according to a study conducted by the military itself, has no problem with people being openly gay in the military. And gay people won't be allowed to grope or sexually harass other servicemembers any more than heterosexual sexual harassment is tolerated. And from my personal experience in the military, that is zero. But if allowing gay servicemembers to be open about it means that all the bigots and homophobes will leave the military, this can only be a good thing. Most of them are the evangelical fundie Christian types who have turned the military into recruiting grounds for Jesus. Or, on the other hand, they might stay in because they feel it's their duty to "save" the evil gheys from their life of sin.
Oh and DADT didn't bar gays from serving, it allowed them to serve as long as they hid their sexuality. Previous to 1993 gays weren't allowed in at all, though some of them obviously did.
Re-instating the draft would follow shortly behind, if, indeed, "40 percent" of the military walked out because of the repeal of DADT.
Of course, draftees would mean that not just the poor and unemployed would fill the ranks of the military, but the sons and daughters of all.
That would have given Chimpy McCokespoon pause when launching wars of agression, ie Iraq. Bring on the motherfuckin' draft!
Gays aren't banned from serving, they're just not allowed to be open about their homosexuality. All that repealling DADT will do is let them be open about it.
"In that case, a vote for repeal of the 1993 law barring homosexuals from the military amounts to a vote for reinstating the draft"
Can you say logical disconnect?
But if even an estimated 10 percent choose to leave the service - let alone 40 percent of Marines, who, according to the leakers, think repeal will cause problems ...
And the number who will actually leave? Closer to 0%. When the US military began mixing blacks and whites in WW2, a bunch of career-military white guys said the same thing: "I'm getting out as soon as I can." And you know what? They didn't. They were just whiners who thought they could derail things with their threats and whining. Besides, gays have worked openly in private industry for decades, so what good would leaving the military for private industry do?
In that case, a vote for repeal of the 1993 law barring homosexuals from the military amounts to a vote for reinstating the draft.
Nice well-lubricated slippery slope you have there. I'm not sure what your logic is. Mind you, as soon as the USA stops fucking around in countries they have no business being in you can reduce the size (and expense) of your military.
Or is that too logical for you?
Sing with me:
It's a free country,
where you can say and do as you want
As long as you don't diss the Christians or are gay
Hey, you can't say that!
Freedom of Speech is awesome
Now shut the fuck up, we feel offended
Your words are breaking our bones
Fuckin' a, I know not a good song, but these guys just don't like Freedom, they really don't because it allows people to be themselves and not brave little bible drones willing to take a bullet for the rich and powerful.
What is the TSA non-sequiteur about? And where does the 40% of Marines leaving the service number come from?
Out of interest, why is this going to be a problem for the US armed forces when it hasn't been for all the other armed forces of the world who do allow gay personnel? I can think of two possible answers. First, there wont be any significant problems and it's all in the minds of repressed, puritan fucktards. Second, there will be a problem because the US military is staffed largely with repressed, puritan fucktards.
Which is it Mr Gaffney?
Just going by the numbers, a female officer has more to fear from sexual harassment from male officers than a male officer has to fear from unwanted homosexual attention. So.. really, straight men are the ones that are the problem in that arena.
"'vote with their feet,' as the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Adm. Mike Mullen, has called on them to do"
The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs is urging troops to desert?
Part 1
Suddenly, just as the Obama-led campaign to foist the radical homosexual agenda on the U.S. armed forces is reaching its denouement, the American people are getting a taste of forced intimacy - and they don't like it.
No, they are getting a taste of what equality means, no more, no less.
In airports around the country, they are being subjected to intrusions on their personal space by people and machines of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
Really, now. As I recall, when it was just people of Arabic descent being pulled aside for...ah..randomly selected extra screening, was it? You people were screaming about how a little compromise of personal freedoms or dignity in the name of security was a good thing. Suddenly now that the shoe's on the other foot, it's not such a good thing?
Team Obama's line is that "most" in uniform think there will be no problem, or at least "mixed" good and bad repercussions. But if even an estimated 10 percent choose to leave the service - let alone 40 percent of Marines, who, according to the leakers, think repeal will cause problems - the effect will be traumatic, possibly devastating, for the U.S. armed forces.
Thinking it will have adverse effects does not mean they will leave, bucko. It could mean they are concerned that people like you will try and pitch fit after fit, corroding the forces from within.
Part 2
If tens of thousands choose not to submit and "vote with their feet," as the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Adm. Mike Mullen, has called on them to do, it may become impossible to rely only on volunteers to staff our military.
Hm. So someone finds out that their squadmate is gay, and they decide to leave. And suddenly WE'RE the divisive influence? We want to serve, just like you (Giving you the benefit of the doubt here, far, far more than I should, and assuming you're not just an impotent armchair general.) But people who would target us, or desert the military merely because of our presence are just innocent victims? If the reason was anything...ANYTHING else, you people would be calling them traitors of the highest order.
In that case, a vote for repeal of the 1993 law barring homosexuals from the military amounts to a vote for reinstating the draft.
As has been noted, it didn't ban homosexuals, it just forced them to be closeted as long as they served, allowing a group of people to be discriminated against or blackmailed. Also, while you account for a group of manchilds who would quit rather than serve with a homosexual, but you fail to account for people who WOULD enlist knowing that they don't have to remain in the closet, or not have to face sanctioned harassment.
Spinning stories, basic course:
1) Pick up some story that your readers agree with and use terms your readers agree with, such as...
> Obama-led campaign to foist the radical homosexual agenda on the U.S. armed forces
2) Pick another big issue that is In The News, firmly ignoring all finer details and accentuating the ones that have anything to do with story 1).
> a taste of forced intimacy - and they don't like it. In airports around the country, they are being subjected to intrusions on their personal space by people and machines of the Transportation Security Administration
In this case, for example, in 1), it's important to emphasise the evils of Gayness, not evils of civil rights. In 2), it's important to invent and emphasise the link to Gayness, call it "forced intimacy", and use it to attack an issue that's in the news (TSA boneheadedness). Be sure to firmly ignore the fact that TSA boneheadedness is just business as usual, continuing unchanged and unimpeded since it was instituted during the Bush administration.
Happy spindoctoring!
How strange that this only seems to be a problem in the US of A (and possibly Iran and Iraq).
No, I'm not like some people here, always bashing Amerrka. I know most Americans are decent folks.
But, some things just seem to be huger issues Over There, than anywhere else.
Like "accidentally" showing a nipple on TV, or people using curse-words, or gays in the military.
What does it matter if the gays are open about themselves or not?
(To other people, that is - of course it matters to the gay, to be allowed to be themselves).
Isn't it better to know that a person is gay, than just guess it? Guess-work creates rumors and slander. Openness is often relaxing.
In that case, a vote for repeal of the 1993 law barring homosexuals from the military
Try learning what it is that you're defending.
amounts to a vote for reinstating the draft.
Strawberries are blue; therefore, the capital of Lithuania is Los Angeles.
Personally, I think he's right about the TSA policies--way too intrusive. But the rest is pure bullshit. Anyone who would leave the military because the guy everyone knew was gay can finally admit it isn't someone who should have been there in the first place--letting their personal feelings get in the way of their duty is not exactly model behavior.
Also, I am confused as to why he would act like the draft is a bad thing.
Isn't it every republican's dream to force us 'bleeding heart' liberals into raping and killing arab children for the greater glory of the oil companies and the military/industrial complex?
In airports around the country, they are being subjected to intrusions on their personal space by people and machines of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
But you had no problems with "random" selections, did you?
To clear things up:
Homosexuality is (soon to be was) still illegal in the military, and if you are caught you will be subject to court-martial. So homosexuals are not allowed in the military.
What DADT did was enact a policy of not pursuing investigations for anything but the most blatant homosexuality.
It also removed the famous "are you gay?" question from the recruiting paperwork.
For example, if enough people saw you kissing a guy in a club (assuming you are male), you would be investigated, and enough people would definitely mean more than one or two. If someone found a playgirl under your mattress or just thought you acted kind of "swishy" you would no longer be investigated.
Part of the investigation would be to determine whether you exhibited a "pattern" of gayness. If they found that you had a history of being heterosexual but were just overcome in a moment of weakness or were claiming to be gay without acting gay, they would drop the investigation. In fact, the only surefire way to get kicked out of the military for being gay was to have a gay marriage.
It wasn't a good way to get out anyway. You were better off getting injured or claiming not to be adjusting to military life.
In airports around the country, they are being subjected to intrusions on their personal space by people and machines of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
So you support the terrorists? Why am I not surprised?
"In that case, a vote for repeal of the 1993 law barring homosexuals from the military amounts to a vote for reinstating the draft."
=== Good. You can send you sons out to be killed in Bushe's illegal war and in Afghanistan too. Any sensible man would declare himself gay in the circumstances.
In airports around the country, they are being subjected to intrusions on their personal space by people and machines of the Transportation Security Administration
If you were to actually think for a moment, you'd recall that it was your beloved Bush who started that.
Confused?
