There are things that are best just not talked about, much less openly celebrated. Queerness is one such thing. It is not normal and everyone knows it, but political correctness forces us all to pretend it's fundamentally no different from normal sexuality. It is different, and to deny that in official policy is to deny reality, which has its worst consequences in military settings. It encourages falsification and lying, which seriously undermine morale.

Most seriously of all, it tells the normal soldier that what makes him uncomfortable doesn't matter. IOW: HE doesn't matter. Queers comprise about 2% of the population, and they're more important than the 98%. Talk about favoritism, and it sets up a divisive dynamic. Normal men are equipped biologically to feel revulsion toward queers. Fighting against biology has you fighting against yourself, and that's the last thing you want or need in combat.

Some queers aren't a problem. They're the ones who lived with DADT. The problems will be those who want to push things. And they will.

I took my kids out for ice cream (and no, I wasn't harassed by the border patrol), and two lesbians were making out next to the front door of the establishment. I was disgusted, but didn't say anything about it. I'm kind of ashamed of myself for not saying anything to the restaurant owner. It was all for public show. Homosexuality is the product of a genetic defect or mental illness. The fact that homosexuals cannot procreate within their sexual identity makes it self-evident that it is not viable as a "lifestyle." It is a non-self-sustaining deviation.

As far as the individual who stated he would leave the service if "gays" are allowed to openly serve, I urge him to reconsider. I would advocate him joining what will undoubtedly be a very large sub-culture in the military (comprising both officers and enlisted) that will devote itself to thoroughly intimidating "open servers" to the point that they want nothing more than to permanently walk out the front gate and not look back.

The line has to be drawn somewhere.

The first time a couple of "open servers" walk into an NCO or Officers Club holding hands -- that club will become a "gay" bar.

What I could never understand is the following:
If all of life originated from one cell, how could that animal become a plant or that plant become an animal? Evolution presupposes more impossibilities than creation, and unlike creationism there exists no supreme being capable of doing the impossible. In other words, evolution by any definition in the mind of any thinking person cannot possibly happen. The entire theory is based on science which cannot conform to the laws of science. It is circular reasoning in reverse; instead of arguments supported only by the arguments, it is science negated by the very science it uses as a base.
