Just a thought about how they are 'woking' Marvel and DC:
If all the characters are now going to be gay.... well, mutants and other superheroes will die out in a few more decades. Humans just have to wait.
........ damnit. The X-Men have a ressurection device.
It is one thing to BE that person. Just be who you are. Live life, pay your bills, look forward to the weekend-
If, in these comics, it comes out that a person is gay / bi / whatever, well, there it is.
It is quite another to do everything you can to SHOVE it into people's faces.

Only 1% of characters are LGBTQ...

"I doubt many here have read The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire. I waded through it in High School because a friend dared me to do it. When I finished, it made a great door stop, and my little sister used it so she could sit in a grown-up chair and reach the table.
There are four basic reasons Rome fell.
Political corruption
Financial irresponsibility
Moral debauchery and homosexuality
A weakened military (They were conquered by the Goths in 465)
Sound familiar?"
That book blamed Christianity: https://sourcebooks.fordham.edu/source/gibbon-decline28.asp

"Well, that part did sour me on most modern comics and TV shows. In a decent nation, political promotion of sexual perversions would be rightfully seen as evil; but since we are not a nation of decent people anymore, different names for different sorts of sexual perversions get celebrated and promoted as "diversity"."
How is sexual attraction any more perverted than heterosexuality?
I mean, I don’t agree with every “woke” decision that Disney and those it owns makes, true, but I still don’t see why more diversity is a bad thing. Just acknowledging some group exists is NOT “shoving it in people’s faces”. You want to know what “shoving it in people’s faces” really is? Look at those agressive “Christians” who demand that the entire world conforms to their niche beliefs.
Also, I find it hilarious that you’re an X-men (you know, the group that deals with unjust persecution) fan when you dislike homosexuality.

My friend, these days everything in fiction can be “serious business” to looney fans. From people burning their entire manga collection in public because their favorite pairing didn’t work out in the story, to people sending death threats to writers and such because they don’t like a plot twist, to people acting like Disney raped their family by making changes to Star Wars…
One big problem with people complaining about stuff "going woke" is there is never really no middle ground with the detractors while the corporations pushing things can be really tone deaf, like they are with any issue. And then that causes more dissension and problems.
The fact that is sad though, is though the character might just be living their life, gay/bi/or whatever, you take that as "Everyone is gay! You are shoving your views down our throats! We're getting metaphorically sodomized by seeing something I don't like!"
Could write a freaking essay on why this isn't a simple issue, and the various aspects of it... but this guy's an idiot, so I'll not waste more time on him. Maybe if someone here wants it, but not for someone who won't read it.

The funny thing is, people like the OP are complaining (and genuinely believe) that the big corpo’s have a “leftist bias” and are needlessly “shoving lgbtq+ stuff down everyone’s throats to brainwash them”. When in reality, corpos tend to have no real conviction towards such things except towards money(*); they just tend to obey the wishes of their current largest clientele to keep said money. In other words, people like the OP are by definition the minority already.
(*)If anything corpos tend to be more right wing than left wing. So if you think about it, the OP should be agreeing with their capitalist mindset.

I’d like to read it, but it’s up to you and whether you have time and will.
Note also that we have a blog section of the site now. You can post it there if it’s epic and/or you’d like your post to be more accessible to readers.
Here’s how to make a blog post:

You do realize that mutants were designed as a fantastical depiction of real life minorities right? Even back then a lot of comics had a more progressive stance then you like to admit simply by virtue of what they are and represent, like superman's immigration feeling and knowing he's not quite the same as the rest of his nation because he was written by two Jewish Americans putting their own experience in him in a subtle manner.
But as timjer is saying there's a reason why corporations are including representation of various minorities, because their actual fan base wants it, or the public wants it, meaning your the minority not them and you lot repeating the phrase "go woke go broke" even as corporations make globs of money off these decisions and clearly not going broke won't change that it especially won't change if you lot continue to deny reality and continue to say that your opinions on gay people are in the majority when it's clearly not. Society change, usually for the better but sometimes for the worse, but you or I can't stop that no matter how much someone bitch and moans about it.
Stan Lee created the X-Men as a metaphor for the Civil Rights movement: so Marvel were awake to social Reality before you were born. Well, there it has always been.
Now go back to sleep, OP.
If all the characters are now going to be gay.... well, mutants and other superheroes will die out in a few more decades. Humans just have to wait.
There would still be new mutants arising spontaneously, plus mutates and other acquired empowerments, plus created beings (robots, biotechnological creatures, golems etc.), plus outsiders (make Earth an asylum for good aliens and magical creatures from homophobic cultures from space and beyond?)…
How DARE they include marginalized groups in my men-in-tights power fantasy! None of the wall-crawling, roof-hopping caped demigods I personally know are anything but lantern-jawed, barrel-chested paragons of pussy-crushing heterosexuality! All these queer fictional characters are just taking all the realism out of stories about aliens, mutants and unemployed photographers somehow affording New York property even on lease.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
