Transgender - An ideology based on the self assertion of being the opposite sex. Not relevant to sexual orientation. Invalid.

Queer - Another term for homosexual. Used ambiguously rather than a direct claim of ones homosexuality. Valid.

Questioning - Self explanatory, but not a sexual preference. Invalid.

Two-Spirit - Culturally inappropriate and not even remotely relevant to sexual orientations. Invalid.

Intersex - A biological anomaly that covers a variety of physical sex disorders. Completely unrelated to sexual orientation. Invalid.

Asexual - The total lack of sexual desire. Not a sexual orientation. Invalid.

It's not about the sexuality label, it's about getting society to treat people as valid human beings with the same rights and priveleges as anyone else, no matter the sexuality or gender identity. That yes, they exist, and they shouldn't be treated as lesser for it.
And yes, that includes asexuals.

Leaving aside the whole “I’ma gatekeep everything on the LGBTQ+ spectrum” issue… how the fuck is asexuality invalid? It’s a sexual orientation of “none”.

What you consider "valid" is irrelevant, as people with transgender identities, intersex people, asexuals, and people who identify as two-spitit *do*, in fact, exist. Sure, "transgender" and "intersex" aren't sexual orientations. So why are we all lumped together as LGBT++? Because for straight cisgender gender-conforming mainstream bigots, there's not much difference between a "fag" and a "tranny" or whatever else. The hate we get is the same. It's really lame when some LGBT++ people are homophobic or transphobic. Now, it really boggles the mind to have "two-spirit" described as "culturally inappropriate". I mean, it depends on what fucking culture you're in, right? For some people it is very much culturally appropriate. And saying asexuality isn't a sexual orientation? I don't even know where to begin... And, there's more than one way to be queer. Go ahead and leave "questioning" out I guess. Whatever. But I wouldn't say it's invalid...

Asexual - The lack of desire for sex with others. Sort of a sexual version of atheism. Valid.

Now explain why someone else’s sexual orientation is any of your business. The only reason I can think of is that you want to hook up with them, and there are plenty of people who are going to say “no” regardless of their orientation.

As a gay cis-man I don’t get people who feel the need to post stuff like this. What is the point? Why do people like the OP make the jump from ‘hey, I’m part of a group that has been marginalized for centuries and is just now getting better’ to ‘well, that means that other still marginalized group's plights are not valid’? The lack of empathy and forethought about how easily this can backfire is astounding and disheartening.

Way to miss the point. Tge whole movement is about NOT letting asshat pricks decide what is and isn't valid for someone else to express themselves. Deciding what does or doesn't deserve to be included voids the entire fucking thing.

It would be like allowing racial equality for blacks and whites, but only if they're PURE black or white. Not mixed, half-breeds, mulatto, etc. Why do you get to draw the line. Why in the name of Sam Gamgee does there need to BE a line?
