Transgender people also benefitted from SSM, as a couple can now legally marry, whatever either of them identify as. It isn’t the end of the LGBTIQ rainbow.

Hm, I don’t know how I feel about this one. I DO think that the mainstream gays and lesbians(especially the white cis ones, I say as a white cis myself) do tend to minimize or erase the struggles of the less marketable members of the community AND that the extreme focus on passing SSM legislation allowed straights to feel good about assisting the community while not actually dealing with systemic issues…

but also, that doesn’t mean SSM legislation is a bad thing, or that it’s some sort of big gay conspiracy to keep down the B’s, the T’s, and the Q’s.

This is par for the course on queer Tumblr, everyone's talking about how everyone is valid while also making lists of what people to exclude from queer circles. Hell, I'd be banned from a lot of spaces just for using the word "queer".

I don't know if you hang out much on Tumblr, but variations of "where's the essay" tends to mean "I agree with everything you're saying". That said, the poster refutes the anon's opinions in their reply to this post.

There’s a reason Reddit and Ruqqus have a TumblrInAction forum just for all the crazy, abusive shit from these echo chambers.

Just because I’m bi and strongly believe HRT works for dysphoria (it’s scientifically proven to work! “gender-critical” talk therapy to “cure them of their transgender delusions” hasn’t been proven to do jackshit!) doesn’t mean I should have to agree with people who are mean, crazy and blatantly wrong. Fuck anyone who demands I submit to them.

It’s like how racial slurs like “coon,” “cooning” and “house nigger” are far more common on black-supremacist social media groups. Even specific terms you’d never find on their counterparts like The Daily Stormer. I’ve seen it firsthand on Twitter, Reddit and Facebook.
