When the NRA has a convention, they ban guns. Overall gun deaths go down during the convention, because a portion of the people who would be accidentally or angrily shooting themselves or a loved one are at the convention.

Guns are not doing the killing. They are making the killing easier. They are the easiest and cheapest method to cause as much death as possible.
If you are against red flag laws and background checks then you are in favor of making it easier for people to kill others. If you ignore mental illness until a mass shooting happens then you are in favor of making it easier for people to shoot others.
There are ways to make it harder for people to kill others, to make them go though more hoops and make it easier for them to be stopped. That is what I want. Let's make it as hard as possible to kill many people at once.
Funny. Here in Belgium we have very strict gun control laws, and we still have people on all sides of the law spectrum, from upstanding to criminals to lunatics... And yet, we have never actually had a school shooting for as long as I can remember. It’s almost like strictly regulated guns VASTLY decrease the amounts of people shot to death…
Even crows know that an unarmed human is not much danger to them, but a human with the long stick, DEADLY DANGER! So what's your excuse, birdbrain? AAHHH!
And it's certainly possible to murder people without guns: knives, rocks, bow and arrows, or even a plastic fork. But automatic weapons make it so much easier.
