I mean, as far as a quick read goes, the White House is going hard on the people advocating the "both sides can do bad" sorta argument as Hamas is/was apparently heavily targeting civilians and launched the latest offensive by surprise. So they are going for a "They started it, we'll support the attacked" type thing. It's not like the White House wouldn't take a peaceful solution if it came up.

Flipside, calling for both sides to not endanger civilians is hardly a bad position to have. Certainly better than more crazy GOP positions of "Fuck everyone over there" and "We only support Israel because we need it for our doomsday fantasies to come true."

Most people doesn’t love the Hamas (even before the latest atrocity), they just don’t want civilians to get harmed.

Are people like OP not aware being in bed with terrorists, criminals (which really are covered under terrorists), neo Nazis and religious fanatics a terrible look?

The civilians are taking the brunt of the punishment on both sides. That's who I feel sorry for.
