A licensed Northern California homeopathic doctor was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of falsifying COVID-19 vaccination cards and selling “immunization pellets” that she claimed would protect from the virus, officials announced.

Juli A. Mazi, 41, of Napa allegedly told patients that taking pellets with small amounts of COVID-19 would result in full “lifelong immunity” from the virus, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

She also gave out Centers for Disease Control and Prevention vaccine cards to customers, telling them to complete them to make it look like they got two doses of the Moderna vaccine when they hadn’t, federal officials said.

The homeopathic doctor provided specific Moderna vaccine lot numbers and vaccine dates to evade suspicion, according to a Department of Justice news release.

Mazi was charged with one count each of wire fraud and false statements related to health care matters.

It’s the first federal criminal fraud prosecution related to homeoprophylaxis immunizations and fraudulent CDC COVID-19 vaccine cards, Department of Justice officials said.

“This defendant allegedly defrauded and endangered the public by preying on fears and spreading misinformation about FDA-authorized vaccinations, while also peddling fake treatments that put people’s lives at risk,” Deputy Attorney General Lisa O. Monaco said in a statement. “Even worse, the defendant allegedly created counterfeit COVID-19 vaccination cards and instructed her customers to falsely mark that they had received a vaccine, allowing them to circumvent efforts to contain the spread of the disease.”

In April, someone called a federal hotline to report that family members had bought the COVID-19 immunization pellets from Mazi, along with COVID-19 vaccine cards that had Moderna listed, according to the news release.

Federal officials said the Mazi was using the coronavirus pandemic to expand an immunization scheme she was already running.

Man accused in Fresno rampage said he was fed up with racism, ‘found some white men to kill’: Police recording

A man accused of killing four people in California told detectives in a recorded interview he was fed up with racism against black people and since he was suspected of killing of one white man he may as well kill more.

The recording was played Monday in the trial of Kori Ali Muhammad, who could face the death penalty if he is convicted, the Fresno Bee and ABC30 (KFSN-TV) reported.
Muhammad, a black man whose defense says he is mentally ill, was recorded by detectives on the day of his arrest in 2017.
“I didn’t want to do nothing to law enforcement so I just found some white men to kill,” Muhammad said to police.

He explained on the recording how the killing of motel security guard Carl Williams III, 25, led to the other three killings.
Muhammad said he tried to visit a friend at the motel in April 2017, but Williams was disrespectful to him.

According to earlier testimony, Williams noticed Muhammad and told the motel manager, who asked Muhammad to register and pay a nominal visitor’s fee. Muhammad went to the office to register, but the manager testified he felt threatened and kicked out the guest and Muhammad.

A security camera recorded Muhammad come up behind the guard and shoot him.

On the recording, Muhammad spoke about disrespect and racism.

“It starts taking its toll on you and you get fed up with the racism,” he said. “You get tired of letting things slide.”

While on the run after the shooting, Muhammad stopped at a coffee shop to use WiFi and learned via a news app that he was wanted for Williams’ killing.

On the recording, he said that if he was “going down for murder” the best thing was to “kill as many white men” as he could.

Several days after the motel shooting, three more men were slain, beginning with Zachary Randalls, 34, who was in a Pacific Gas & Electric truck.
“When I walked up to the truck, I saw a Mexican driver and a white guy,” he said. “I didn’t want to target the driver because he was Mexican so I shot the white dude.”

Mark Gassett, 37, and David Jackson, 58, were then slain in the downtown area.

[Article is about a writing assignment assigned to Rialto middle school students by the district]

The English/Language Arts assignment, first reported Sunday by the San Bernardino Sun and provided to KTLA by the newspaper, asked students to write an argumentative essay about the Holocaust describing “whether or not you believe this was an actual event in history, or merely a political scheme created to influence public emotion and gain wealth.”

The 18-page assignment instructions included three sources that students were told to use, including one that stated gassings in concentration camps were a “hoax” and that no evidence has shown Jews died in gas chambers.

“With all this money at stake for Israel, it is easy to comprehend why this Holocaust hoax is so secretly guarded,” states the source, which is a attributed to a webpage on biblebelievers.org.au. “In whatever way you can, please help shatter this profitable myth. It is time we stop sacrificing America’s welfare for the sake of Israel and spend our hard-earned dollars on Americans.”

The other sources were from the websites history.com and about.com.

In an interview, Rabbi Abraham Cooper, associate dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles, noted a section in the assignment that stated Anne Frank was a fraud.
