Let me know when you obtain the ability to get pregnant, at least for a portion of your life like any healthy adult woman should, carry a pregnancy to term, naturally produce enough estrogen to even look female without requiring hormone shots for life, and change your chromosomes from XY to XX. All of these traits are found in healthy adult women.
But these are not traits found in all healthy adult women. You said changing my sex would be a sci-fi fantasy, I pointed out one way it is possible: surgery to turn my male genitals female (often considered one way of determining one's sex, at least in a biological sense. Is it perfect? No. But as Skide pointed out in the comment you ignored before responding to me, sex isn't an all or nothing thing. I can have female genitals, I can take hormones to gain female secondary sexual characteristics. At some point, I'll be more female than male, but what, I'm a man because I have XY chromosomes? Get real, man. What difference does it make if my body produces the estrogen or I get it in a pill or whatever? Not a damn thing.
The best cosmetic change you can make would be exposed by a DNA test or by an observant individual.
I mean, I'd call swapping out my penis/testicles for a vagina/vulva a lot more than a cosmetic change. It's very much a functional difference. Ditto for many of the effects of the hormones. Anyway, a DNA test isn't a sure thing for telling if someone is trans. Sometimes people with XY chromosomes are born female.
As for those "observant individuals", they're probably the kind of idiots who end up calling trans any cisgender woman who doesn't measure up to their standards of beauty, while not noticing at all the transness of those trans women who end up super hot (they do exist).
When you roleplay,
When I roleplay? Fuck you. My being a woman isn't roleplay. Not any more so than it is for cisgender women anyway.
I'd suggest doing so without:
1. Losing your grip on reality.
2. Making ridiculous demands of society.
My grip on reality is just fine, thanks. (Except when I'm *really* roleplaying; then I'll blast you with my cosmic dragon breath). And asking people to treat me like a woman isn't a ridiculous demand, because I am a woman.
I for one think society isn't tolerant enough of trans people
I think you're lying.
but I'm not gonna support your attempts to radically alter mainstream culture and how men and women, the so-called cissies, relate to each other
I don't want to radically alter mainstream culture. I don't think letting me be included in the category of "woman" requires such a change. And I don't think making a space for non-binary people would require too much of a change either. And it's telling that you put me and other trans people outside "men and women" completely there.
or how they raise their boys and girls just so you can feel "safe".
The only changes I want in this area are for fewer people to teach their kids to be transphobic and for more people to let their trans kids live their lives authentically. I don't see why that's such a huge fucking problem.
And what makes me feel unsafe are all the assholes out there spreading hateful lies and misinformation intended to demean and belittle trans people and the people advocating violence against us. Oh yeah, and the people actually commiting violence against us. All because a few bigoted assholes have been taught a false black and white view of sex/gender and can't handle how ambiguous these things often are in reality.
