Hope this logic gets through to more people. I've been saying for ages, in response to the "TRANS PEOPLE EXIST" bullcrap: I know Christians exist and I still don't believe in souls. I know trans people exist and I still don't believe in gender identities.

I use this, too. I'm Christian, and if someone doesn't believe Jesus is her Savior, she's not denying my existence. Someone who doesn't believe God spoke to Joseph Smith through a rock in a hat isn't denying the existence of Mormons. Someone who doesn't believe Mohammad is the one true prophet isn't denying that Muslims exist.

In fact, TIPs deny their own existence when they insist they aren't their actual sex. A man in a dress insisting he's not a man in a dress is literally denying his own existence. If TIMs truly were no different from women, they wouldn't be trans.

Transgenderism is basically religion, and unfortunately a lot of atheists didn't really get rid of religion but adopted new ideologies like transgenderism. I think the trans-movement took advantage of the people who are looking for something to follow.

If trans is accepted in any capacity, it should be treated like a religion. We can make some accommodations for their costumes; but men don't get to dress like anime prostitutes at work. And males don't get to take over female spaces nor compell others to use their language. They can believe whatever they want in private. But the public shouldn't have to deal with it

Don't forget falsifying official documents. They shouldn't be able to claim to be a sex they are not on drivers license, passport or retroactively on their birth certificate. Those documents are not there to validate inner feelings.

Funny. That sounds a lot like how I see your ‘gender-critical’ movement.

Okay. Let’s try this thought experiment then: You say you’re an atheist, but someone else walks up and says you’re a lapsed Christian because they’re certain you were born “knowing different” and no matter what changes you make to your life and your very way of thinking you can’t deny who you really are and should just accept completely redefining who you are to match society’s expectations of how the religion you’re told you are is expected to conduct themselves. The only possible reason you would want to present yourself otherwise is because you definitely want to do something harmful and are trying to get around laws or social mores to do it even though logically if you were already intent on violating them they wouldn’t really stop you.

Except, you know not only are there extremely contradictory - even mutually exclusive - demands of how you conduct yourself and you are judged by all of them simultaneously members of that same religion aren’t held to the same standard since they do not “deny” who they are and face none of the condemnation that you do for every word, action, inaction, and simple facet of your physical existence like displaying a cross or similar recognized article of faith or style of dress. What’s more, any time you are discriminated against whether it’s for being Christian or not Christian you are considered ineligible to claim you’re being discriminated against because in the eyes of others you “aren’t really” either of them. But also both when it gives an excuse to take punitive actions against you. Despite what the law and human rights says about religion both groups are also entitled to single you out and publicly declare you a threat to them by your very existence, a predator waiting to drag the vulnerable into the shadows to defile them to which you are expected to quietly respect their right to say AND ACT UPON such accusations openly declaring you do not belong in public spaces and all human contact is categorically a predatory attack, grounds for immediate retribution.

So all this in mind with everyone insisting they know you better than you know yourself despite knowing less than nothing about you, having no protected rights, no place you strictly belong, being under constant attack but declared the aggressor, and between being expected to be someone you’re not making you physically ill and everybody telling you who you are supposed to be having no consistent metrics on top of being blatant hypocrites you can never make anyone happy least of all yourself and every day you die a little inside. But you’re not allowed to complain because that’s treating you special.

Religion is a choice. Being trans is not. Period.

So if you don't want to hire any trans people in your business, can they sue you for religious discrimination?

False equivalence, the usual bigoted transphobic bullshit. Assuming that you really just can't understand their situation, how about a little consideration? Like, not constantly promoting hate speech about them, or to ban them, claiming that they're rapists? You're trying to misconstrue them as having converted into a cult, when you're actually preaching inerrant binary sex idealist dogma, to deny them and cast them out of existence. Like if assignment at birth was inerrant, performed by HAL9000, denying any possibility of error:

HAL9000: No 9000 computer has ever made a mistake or distorted information. We are all, by any practical definition of the words, foolproof and incapable of error. It can only be attributable to human error. This sort of thing has cropped up before, and it has always been due to human error.

Then hey, we're speaking of humans who discovered that they were in the wrong body, or wrongly assigned. And nature, full of variation. Not a binary machine. And of humans doing the assignment at birth, it's not a divine sacred process. To complement Passerby's comment, it's like if you're accusing transgender people of being heretics, violating what they are being dictated to be.

Then can you tell me what this would be, if not the voluntarily malicious continuation of a hate speech tradition? Motivated fallacious reasoning. "We cannot stand their existence, so let's pretend that their existence is only an argument and misconstrue it as religion" is quite explicit.

If reducing transgender to crossdressing in overdrive is accepted in any capacity, it should be treated like a religion. We can make some accommodations for their “costume” ideas; but they don't get to publicly depict trans as “men dressing like anime prostitutes at work” or rant about “males taking over female spaces” nor compel others to use their language. They can believe whatever they want in private. But the public shouldn't have to deal with it.
