It's reasonable to think the nations with the most Christians will be most adversely affected by the rapture, e.g. nations like North Korea, Iran, and Afghanistan will be least affected by the rapture.
It is also reasonable to think God's "hedge of protection" will be removed from the US after the rapture.
In the post rapture world, North Korea will have nothing to lose by nuking greater Los Angeles and San Francisco Bay region including Silicon Valley and Sacramento.
The rapture will occur in a moment when the people do not anticipate. California's future and all of America's urban zones is very bleak. Urban Americans do not have natural access to potable water or food producing land.

Right!
When you least expect it, the heavens will open up, God’s face will appear, and he’ll say: “smile! you’re on candid camera!”
Btw, I’m assuming that everything “Okie Doke” wrote in the OP is supported in detail by scripture. Especially the existence of a divine "hedge of protection” for the USA.

God’s might, NORAD’s won’t.

North Korea will have everything to lose by trying to nuke the U.S.. Just like now. They have a couple nukes powered by outdated rockets which, to have any impact, will have to get through one of, if not (very likely) the greatest anti-air defence system in the world. Meanwhile, the States possess thousands of nukes which will reach their destination, as NK really has no way to stop even a single one of them. NK might scratch the U.S. a little if they are really lucky, the U.S. can completely exterminate NK effortlessly at any moment. Unless your fantasies involve the entire U.S. political/military chain of command disappearing (which they likely don’t, as that would mean they were honest, God-fearing christians) than there is no way your fantasies can end with anything else than NK being exterminated the same day their leadership decided to attack.

They don’t need natural. Artificial one is just enough, and with all the rednecks that might try to harass them gone, who will stop them from simply taking it?
Jews and Muslims also worship the Abrahamic god. The Abrahamic god might pull people from all three religions from Earth if/when the rapture happens.
Remind me; which chapter and verse in the Bible speaks about this “hedge of protection” of the US of A?
Los Angeles and San Francisco might be more empty than you think, and areas with lots of “Religious Rightists” might be almost unaffected. Jesus was all about helping the poor, loving your neighbor, feeding the hungry, healing the sick, and he chased the money-lenders from the Temple. Joel Osteen and all the other “Prosperity Gospel” people might find themselves stuck on Earth while atheists and secularists, who did good without seeking compensation, rise towards heaven.

Okie Doke (going into shock, losing grip on sanity): “The rapture has occurred?? And I’M LEFT BEHIND??? GOOOOOD! THERE’S BEEN A MISTAKE!!! I’M ONE OF THE TRUE CHRISTIANS , FOR YOUR SAKE!!! Are You not the Christian God of the Bible?????????”
Honestly, at this point I’m also itching for the Rapture to happen. If only so that these morons will finally be gone from our beautiful world and we don’t have to listen to their inanity anymore. Then the sane people will finally be able to start making some progress here.
…You know, this got me thinking. Should the Decimation/Snappening/Blip (Thanos) happen in our world right now, completely randomizing its victims, how would the nutjobs react? It looks like their Rapture, but it’s not exclusively them that’ll dissapear. I wonder how they’ll try to spin it…?
Oh, by the way, this was not in response to anything, he just posted this in the comments to the story about some Democratic congressman saying he thought being required to use "God" in their oaths was unconstitutional.

I believe this is true, but not because there will suddenly be a big hole in the job market. Rather, the trumpet will sound, and very, very few people will be taken up.
And those who really, really thought they were the Chosen will be here, still, around a very few disturbed graves and unmanned cars. Waiting for the second wave. And their disappointment and fear will seek a target.
Lord knows, none of these failed Christains will stop to think that maybe THEY were the problem. That THEIR theology, or their cherry picking, or their voting for Trump, broke the deal. They'll turn to the atheists, the muslims, the liberals of their nation and blame.
YOU stopped me from going to Heaven. It's YOUR fault! And the first blows struck in the tribulation will be by very disappointed Christains, thinking that God won't call them up until they wipe the stains away...
@ KeithInc
Eyup; All those nice charitable moderate/progressive/non-frummy Christians (and perhaps non-Christians who are Christlike in spirit) will hang with the J-Man while the hateful, greedy, bigoted “holy-rollers” will be…..*GASP!* ….“LEFT BEHIND”.
@SpukiKitty
Well, I wouldn't presume to know WHICH Christains are the Real Christains, of course.
It just seems that there's a really wide spectrum of beliefs, attitudes and behaviors that make up 'Christainity,' at least from my viewpoint. And typically, each part of the spectrum insists that THEY are the bandwidth that is Christain, all others are wrong.
SO I suspect only a tiny fraction of believers could even possibly qualify for any alleged Rapture.
And humanity in general are SUCH piss-poor losers...
