Bad time to point out that it’s left ward policies that do better at dispelling privation? I’m aware that said policies prevent the “glory” of billionaires’ coffers, but raising the floor always takes precedence over raising the ceiling.
And no, raising the floor is not impossible.
I mean, I fully acknowledge that Democracy is a flawed system, as the humans who make it up are themselves inherently flawed. Case-in-point, Donald Trump got elected in the first place.
But that being said, I’d still prefer to live under a constitutional democracy than, well, the likes of Putin or the Kims.
It’s always fascinating to me that some people are so willing to give up on democracy (an admittedly flawed system, especially the US variant) and replace it with one of the legitimately worst alternatives, dictatorships. Hey buddy, what do you think a dictatorship IS? If you already feel so bad in a democracy, where you at least nominally have some input and the state is there to care for you, then what do you think happens in a state where you have no input at all and the dictator couldn’t give a fuck about you? What are “good economic policies” in your opinion anyway? And why do you think they align with your self-interest?
“Rational” economics are often equal to “maximizing profits”, which in turn is usually the same as “exploiting the workforce till they drop”. There is a reason even the US put a few social safety nets and regulations in place. But fine, if you love the taste of boots stomping your face so much, then (as other commenters said) move! Nothing is stopping you from going to Russia and becoming cannon fodder in a war for the glory of a dictator.
To those suggesting he move, he’d probably consider that to be ceding victory to the Enemy™️. Moving to a nation with a “proper” economy is still a compromise; “fixing” this nation is the only acceptable outcome he sees. Especially if he sees a domino effect; what’s to prevent his idealized dictatorship from getting hit with adopting “poor” policies in turn?

Honestly, if all you care about is money to the point where you start wishing to strip people of human rights and decency for the sake of the economy, can I call you anything else but a disgustingly greedy fuckhead?
