Have you ever noticed that actual working-class people tend to be pretty racist, sexist, xenophobic, & transphobic? Classism might be kind of good, sometimes.

Is BC one of the Rich who vote Republican to keep those working-class people from realising it’s not foreigners, minorities, women, socialists, gays and liberals who are ruining their lives?
How would classism be good in this circumstance? What, that you are avoiding people who are less than desirable?
How about you fix the problem and properly educate them so they would avoid the various negative -isms and -ists? That way you don't just avoid the problem but fix it.
I’m sure the Wobblies might disagree with you; might I point you several cases of the upper classes propagating ultranationalism, religious fanaticism or bigotry to the lower classes to make them less susceptible to revolt, such as the pogroms incited by the Okhrana or how Jim Crow was the result of planters wanting to break the People’s Party?
Here’s the tea. First of all, if something bridges the gap between rich and poor, bringing the haves and have-nots together in peace and solidarity, it’s shitting on minorities.
Secondly, even though there’s a couple reasons social injustice should generally be prioritized higher than and addressed before or alongside purely economic injustice, that doesn’t mean the ultra-wealthy aren’t anything short of exactly what they accuse the poor of being: entitled parasites feasting on the labors of working members of society.
>The BLM protest in Queen Victoria Square in Hull last year after George Floyd's murder
Not seeing any white rightists here in Hull: certainly since .
Why a curious lack of racists appearing anywhere down Spring Bank: the main Muslim district of Hull which has a number of those great working class institutions: pubs?
Including two with Rainbow Flags in their windows denoting how LGBT friendly they are.
If the Muslims there show their tolerance of such places: including those two in particular, what's your excuse, Cack Blat...?!
...or are you too much of a pussy to come to my neck of the woods to have your 'argument' destroyed?
Working class people who happen to be racist tend to be so because the Right has this habit of telling them it's the immigrants' fault they can't earn enough to put food on the table. It's a classic case of the Chain of Harm, where the poor, disenfranchised white working class pick on people with less power than thry do because they never learned critical thinking skills.

Yup. It also doesn’t help that everything is framed as “Country vs. City” or “Salt O’ The Earthers vs. Latte-Sipping Hippie Elitists”. Then there’s the religion thing, many are taught regressive crap in their weekly worship services so they’re brainwashed to think that Deity will forsake them if they favor any sort of Progressivism.
Democrats, Labour or whatever the more Prog party is in a country need to frame themselves as “for the common person” more. More images of farmers, factory workers, homemakers, churchgoers, etc. and emphasis on economics and security (but without forgoing the anti-bigotry, pro-choice, Pride-friendly, etc. stuff).
Also; Progressive-minded clergy going to Seminary / Divinity School and pastoring Conservative Denominations and slipping in teachings about kindness and charity. Gradually lay off of the “Religious Right” crap and focus on what Jesus actually taught.
The working-class folks only got this ‘whitey guy prevails’ thinking from continuous indoctrination by conservative/traditionalist/rightist politicians. The intent is, basically, to:
(1) gobble up the electorate groups perceived as neglected by leftist/progressive groups (as @SpukiKitty said), and:
(2) prevent workers from turning on the conservatives and their crony tycoon pals and use minority rights activists (and minorities in general) as targets of their anger.
Besides, I guess there are many working-class people who are pretty progressive, and many others who simply don’t care about political stuff as they have to worry about how to make the ends meet for their family with the paychecks they get.
Confused?
