"Today Richard Henry Blain told a Montreal courtroom that he was given a vision by Jesus Christ that involved dealing with what he called the "national separatist problem."
His legal-aid laywer, Elfriede Duclervil, told reporters that it has been impossible to prepare a defense for Bain.
When Duclervil asked Bain whether he understands that he is accused of first degree murder, Bain said that he does understand, and that Christian soldiers don't murder.
He told the court that he was given a vision "for the peace and harmony for all Canadians" by his Lord and Savior."
Dennis 'ma(short)bus' Markarzi, is that you?! (but then, I've heard he's breached his parole conditions, so it's the White Van & the nice young men with the comfy jacket with the nice shiny buckles for him next time...! >:D )
Anyway, this loony-tunes conclusively proves what Friedrich Nietzsche once said (emphasis added):
'A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything.'
And the sooner religious fundieism is classed as a mental handicap, and all it's sufferers are put in nut farms permanently for the safety of the rest of everyone here on Planet Reality, the better. There are people with worse psychological disorders (and are usually treated effectively via pharmaceuticals and/or therapy) who would never so much as think of behaving the way this wacko has.
@Horsefeathers
"Someone should probably advise Blain that insanity pleas almost never work, nor does claiming religious motivation for a crime."
And therefore he can kiss his freedom goodbye, regardless; prison or nut farm (and thus the only way he's leaving is in a box), 'tis all the same - and a win-win situation - for we who live on Planet Reality.
--EDIT--
'Feeling sorry' for nutzoids is fine and all - until one - who professes to be 'an avenging angel of the Lord' - attacks a relative of yours (among other innocent bystanders) for no reason whatsoever. My cousin is still receiving psychological therapy.
Then you'll realise what a danger to the rest of everyone else on Planet Reality these seriously deranged loonies represent, and why they should be put in nut farms permanently. Just ask the police in this part of North Carolina, after someone used his pickup to trash two squad cars in the police station's parking lot (then asking him as to why he'd done so, when they'd arrested & restrained him)...:

...and not, say, people on the pavement ('sidewalk')?
'People just do the strangest things, when they believe that they're entitled. But they do even stranger things when they just plain believe.'
