Way before Covid existed, there were people further east than the mere middle - as in Iran - wearing masks because they had a cold or a touch of flu.

Because they cared more about other people going home with their health intact.

And not just women in China, Japan etc.

Yeah well, I used to joke about wearing my burqa (ie mask) during the COVID days, don't have to live under the Taliban, etc. It helped to get through those dark times.

Except that masking ended when the Covid vaccine came out as there was no reason to continue it. Both the masking requirement and the lifting of that requirement were rational decisions, the absolute opposite of fanaticism.

Ironic, perhaps, that a guy who famously wore a mask for much of his pro wrestling career is STILL upset about masking during COVID.

These people believe it is symbolic though. They are unable to understand or relate to other’s outside of their own reasoning. In other words, they think because if they are doing something symbolically, everyone else who does something they don’t support or understand must be doing it symbolically as well.
