Webkilla: So... Trump was found guilty on all charges. should be the easiest appeals case ever to overturn - question is how long the appeals court will drag it out, if its as crooked as the judge that presided over the case was

Long Tom: Other political figures were indicted and convicted on fake charges, only for them to be overturned.

Webkilla: its the first president but ya, lets see how muc of this sticks - and how much of this he can get overturned on appeal.

Long Tom: Oliver North and Lyn Nofziger were two Reagan administration officials convicted on dubious charges which were reversed on appeal. Yes, innocent people in prison in America is not a rarity. Gary Dotson was convicted for a rape he never committed, and it took a lot of rigmarole before he was finally exonerated and released.

Why can’t these nutjobs get it in their thick, empty skulls that Trump was convicted because he actually DID those crimes!? I mean, I keep saying it, but if the point of the trials was to keep him from running for POTUS again, then they would have ALREADY convicted him for life in prison or gitmo or something without parole, especially with his sheer contempt of court during all that.

But as it stands the law clearly says that he is still allowed to run for POTUS, even SHOULD he be incarcerated (which sadly seems unlikely).

CROOKED (according to Trump Personality Cult members): “Not falling in line with ‘The law doesn’t apply to Trump’ and ‘Everything Trump says is right’!”

The number of people who act like there is any substantial question about this case is absurd. There were a bunch of things Trump could have been charged with. The only thing he was charged with is the open and shut part. The only thing the state had to prove is that Trump knew the paperwork was not honest, everything else was automatic. The only way Trump wins on appeal is if something procedural was screwed up and the judge was obviously moving carefully to avoid that. If the sentence is too harsh he is likely to get it reduced but I don’t think the judge will make a mistake there either.
The timing of the case is awkward but Trump is partially at fault for that himself. Stalling things as long as he could, then trying to jam things up with overlapping cases and then playing chicken that the states wouldn’t bring him to court during the campaign.

Well… if it goes up to the Supreme Court, at least three of them are definitely corrupt enough to say “damn the law,” and do whatever suits their own agendas. Alito and Thomas support the 1/6 insurrectionists, and Barrett is only there to support the US becoming a Christian theocracy. And they know there won’t be enough votes to impeach them, so they’ll likely get away with it. If they can get two more justices to go along with them, conviction overturned.

And if Trump wins the Presidency, he’ll probably order the Secret Service and the military to prevent the sentence from being carried out/ break him from prison. Not sure that will work out the way he wants, though…

Exactly, except that those facts wouldn't allow them to keep pushing their conspiracy theories and scapegoating, of course. So reality must be rejected.
