The fact that christian churches cannot find a dictatorship that they would not support in exchange for access to people's donations tells how everything we need to know about their claims of morality. Churches are a vessel for priestly greed. Some priests might be good people (though I will need evidence for any given individual, considering how many are proven crooks and predators), but the organisations for whom they work all hide rot and corruption in their structures. One would think that a god who supposedly once wiped out cities if not the whole of humanity for their wickedness, would clean up the parasites who prey on the flock of the faithful. Either this god does not care, or it does not exist. Neither possibility is an argument in favour of the morality of the christian god.

That is my issue with conspiracy theorists: everything has to be linked to their culprit of choice.
I can understand and accept the idea that governments are hiding stuff from their population. I can even understand and accept that certain interests may coopt certain parts of governments to serve their own purposes.
However, not everything can come to one singular cause. I have worked for a public administration. There are so many factors, contradictions and general leeway for mistakes that no shadowy organisation could ever so precisely control one government, let alone all of them, to get everything they want, in absolute secrecy.
And I say this as someone conspiracy theorists would undoubtedly call “Deep State” or some such. There are no secret clubs or arcane knowledge in administrations anywhere, just a bunch of people doing their best to keep a wildly unpredictable system working.
