Legally, marriage is a partnership where two estates are joined. So by marrying a woman, the man allows her to claim the assets of the couple. In a divorce, she takes her half. It’s not stealing, and it’s no longer HIS assets. Law has meaning, too.
And child custody could be given to men if they can convince the judge they’re the better choice. So it’s not a ‘power’ of women.
