Jeez. I don't actually HOPE that anyone gets the Virus, because that puts others at risk. However, if this bong-valve gets it, i will laugh quite a bit.

A true church respects science. You’re just miffed that genuine spiritual people not fettered by fanaticism along with non-wingnuts are bound to be less sickened by the Coronavirus bug floatin’ ‘round.

Until this mess passes, it’s wise to avoid too much physical contact, avoid handshakes, wash hands frequently, use hand sanitizer, cover coughs and sneezes with forearms and generally not be a filthy stinky slobby person.

The darker side of me feels schadenfreude at all the wingnuts, Trumpsters, Teabaggers, Fashies and general regressive weirdos being so careless that they all get too sick to go to the voting booths.

While I don’t believe in panicking, I do still believe in precautions and health measures.

Coronavirus is bound to kill wingnuttery because it’s wingnut politicians who are busy downplaying this and cutting measures that could’ve contained this from the get-go. Had the orange Moscowian Candidate not developed a revenge-boner after Impeachment and fired all those health authorities and de-funded health measures, Coronavirus would’ve been a mostly non-issue like SARS, Ebola and Swine Flu (which were only death-dealing messes in the countries of origin rather than spread ‘round the globe).

So dumbasses like Trump, Johnson and the rest weakened disease response and stifled legit info and told folks “Travel all you want! Sneeze of everybody!” and now you have ENTIRE COUNTRIES LIKE ITALY ON QUARANTINE!

Meanwhile; Nice Progressive governments are sharing valid information to the public, taking precautions, quarantining those who got the disease before they can spread and washing their hands.

On the bright side; At least Trump wasn’t around to destroy stuff during the Ebola scare. Coronavirus seems to mainly kill the old, children or people with weak immune systems and is more or less something that one can recover from over time. Ebola is practically a death sentence and basically turns you into ooze!

So; I’m washing my hands, sneeze & cough in my forearm, use hand sanitizer and consume plenty of Vitamin C.

I am not going to defend the frankly pathetic response by the Trump administration, but it’s not so cut and dry as conservative governments making a hash of it while liberal governments are coping.

Coronavirus has not struck Hungary or Russia down, despite their right wing natures. More liberal governments, like Ireland. are now in lockdown. This is likely because travel from China to western Europe and America are more frequent, so you won’t have Hungarians or Russians coming into contact with where it originated*. It has also slowed down in China, which is not a bastion of liberal democracy.

There’s also the issue that this coronavirus seems more contagious than swine flu of the past, and ebola was unlikely to make it to the USA, so if Trump was president it still would have been a non-issue.

By all means criticise the idiocy of Trump’s decisions, he has made it quite clear with his actions that he’s prioritising the stock market and his own business interests above health, but I think we should be more critical of interpretations of liberal governments overwhelmingly succeeding over conservative ones.

From what I see, the strongest interpretation is that Asian governments are coping better than European and American. Most likely due to experience from the 2002-3 SARS outbreak.

*Edit: I should also add that we are unlikely to know the scale of any outbreak in Russia due to state censorship, so maybe it is worse than presented.

As the British Transport Police in London would certainly have no qualms about being this draconian concerning Coronavirus - and thus protecting the public: a drunk person is reason enough to have them arrested as a threat to the people on that train - can you but dare imagine what the not-sissies of Her Majesty's Constabulary that are the Metropolitan Police would do to someone who would so much as think of doing what you suggest, OP...?!

Why doesn't the disease that is ranting street preachers exist on Britain's streets? Section 5 of the Public Order Act is the vaccine.

One of these is not like the others, though. SARS and swine and bird flu were both good examples but ebola is a much different animal(in a manner of speaking) than that. We were never in any danger of it in the west, it only ever spread in Africa, because of the miniscule hygenic and general life quality standards in most African countries(notice south Africa is much better off and they only ever had a couple infections despite being connected to the rest of the continent). Ebola doesn’t spread like a flu or a cold, it actually requires serious direct contact with the infected body fluids and it manifests(and kills) much too quickly, to be a real danger society-wise. It’s the things that spread really easily and can hide themselves off in a host for weeks at a time with no symptoms, that are the pandemic makers. Ebola is very much like black death, it can only reap through if the conditions are just right and you have literal unwashed masses living in extreme poverty in cramped conditions, with lots of cretinious superstitions about corpse disposal. This is more of a “bioweapon” virus, something you develop in a lab and disperse over hostile territory to quickly kill off the manpower and move in once the enemy is all done puking their guts out(till rather recently I was myself labouring under a conviction that ebola was actually a soviet bio-warfare project from the 70s that somehow got out during the cold war), since it doesn’t hang around too long either, compared to flu-likes which are perfectly evolved little parasites, the fact that they most usually don’t kill or even cause permanent damage is actually very much to their advantage. Basically when it comes to virai, you have either the ones that spread easily, infect easily and most likely won’t end you or even disable you permanently and we have the heavy duty shit that actually kills you quickly and brutally and could potentially lead to corpses piling on the streets and mass extinction but they would need very specific conditions, because their infection and spread rates are much restricted. Course we used to have the deadliest of them all, the ones who did both well(few and far between as they always were) but hey, polio’s dead as long as we can keep it that way…

Sorry for the TED talk, I’m a bit of a epidemiologist hobbyist, I know, weird hobby to have but one does not choose consciously what appears fascinating to them.
