(Re: Court Rules Christian Mingle Must Include Gay Individuals)
Modern Philosophy
The era of modern philosophy started a little over 100 years ago. That is when men decided that they didn’t need God for morality. They wanted to make their own morality. It failed.
The 20th century was the bloodiest century in history, as a result.
Post-Modern Philosophy
As a result of the failure of modern philosophy…. post modern philosophy was born.
Under post modern philosophy, everyone makes up their own rules. That is the era that we live in right now. Everyone can decide what is right and ok for themselves, and nobody can tell them that they’re wrong.... Brother Glen:(

Uh, aren’t the majority of people in the world still theists of one sort or another? Or did I miss that part in history class, when around 1910-something, everyone became atheists?

Uh huh…..you sure that couldn’t have a little to do with the improved technology and vast increases in population? (or in other words, there’s more people to kill and easier ways to kill them)
Because of employment equality laws, even the Salvation Army have to employ in their organisations Atheists .
Just as secular companies aren't allowed to discriminate against people of faith: in promotional material for the charity British Heart Foundation to recruit volunteers for their shops, images include a Muslim woman in the standard garb of their staff: even a Hijab in the charity's colours.
Post-Modernist Britain.
A surprising lack of blood in our streets, Enoch Powell: even decades later.
'Wind of Change' indeed: as Harold Macmillan said decades ago.

A LITTLE OVER 100 YEARS ago??!! Already 250 years ago David Hume was saying that morality comes from our passions and Baron d'Holbach was sketching a morality that was consistent with his atheism. Have you been living under a rock or something? You're at least 150 years behind schedule.

Ah yeah, "post-modernism", the infamous philosophical boogeyman of the 21st century. If there's an opinion you don't like, just lump it as "the fault of post-modernism" and boom, suddenly everyone is on your side regardless of their position on the political spectrum.
But seriously, "everyone makes up their own rules" is a defining trait of existentialism. Hell, "Everyone can decide what is right and ok for themselves, and nobody can tell them that they’re wrong...." is a strawman of it. It's genuinely interesting that he wants to bash postmodernism but instead bashes on THE VERY THING POSTMODERNISM WAS REACTING AGAINST. This is up there with that "The counter-enlightenment starting with Kant" nonsense from Stephen Hicks.
Every concept of how the world works, how politics work, has social orders do and can work or your opinion on Knickelback are a philosophy.
Only the right wing Christians have elevated this word to religious levels in stupid attempts to equate conservative, racist politics into just Jesus' favorite memes. William Laing Craig and his moron child Sye Ten can fuck right off with their pretzel logic.
Confused?
