If biological sex doesn’t exist and genitals do not determine sex why do they need surgeries to be their “authentic selves”? No one will answer these questions
OR…is it that someone will answer these questions, you just refuse to accept the answers, HawenasTrench?
Biological sex does exist and genitals do determine sex, they just do not determine gender !
Lots of trans people want transition surgeries to bring their sex in synch with their gender. That those two are out of synch in the first place is the source of their dysphoria.

It does and they do. It’s just that there is a difference between sex and gender. I can assume multiple people have patiently tried to explain this to you already, Athena’s Wretch, but you simply choose to ignore them.

It does and they do not alone determine it. It’s a complex array of factors and markers, most of which can be changed or amended.
Hence for many of us even the phrase “they aren’t changing their sex but gender” is not at all correct. Yes, biological sex is very much malleable and changeable and I am not going to pretend it is not. Sure, certainly and for a lot of transgender folks it is merely about social presentation and roles but to just as many, treating it as a gender thing is at least somewhat insulting. For myself personally, the complete biological correction was the very founding stone of my needs. All in all it is of course great to cheer for the the folks to whom this is a gender issue but please don’t forget the ones of us who don’t operate on those fields and for whom this is purely a medical procedure instead of social.
